Despite the British haters, Brainwash is still in favor in the States. Lot of folks got a lot invested in the guy and his work Being in "The States" I had to jump in here. The small microcosm of BW "investors" are very much in the minority in general and are on the outside of quite a large inside joke. If someone does like "his" images that's great but you will not find any informed or knowledgable collector "investing" in his work, in or out of the states. I do agree that a larger population here in the states had the "Exit" movie message go completely over their heads and came away from it being duped by the very satire that made the movie great. I don't think that happened much in the UK. |

No-one had to buy into that, but they did and that was two years before the movie even existed.

That aside, I think my sharing an extremely informative and eye opening documentary is great for all and won't "downhype" anything. Information is just that and it's affects fall where they may IMO. I'm sure Sotheby's and the Hirst camp would love to see this film banished from the planet but I think it's well done, informative and exposes a side to the art world that is rarely if ever seen. |
