whatsya reading ?, by Deleted on Feb 20, 2015 22:08:40 GMT 1, refound my copy of Vonneguts Slaughterhouse 5 this week, in light of the Dresden memorial day even on the 6th reread, it really stands out as a work of utter genius Your current reads? Reading the same thing myself, Fenella Keep meaning to go back to Moby Dick but can't summon up the energy Also want to re read some of Fleming's early James Bond novels and re-acquaint myself with Conan Doyle...
got a degree in amaerican literature lying about somewhere- i managed to avoid the bits that included moby dick

whatsya reading ?, by Deleted on Feb 20, 2015 22:09:54 GMT 1, Recently finished The Martian by Andy Weir. One of my favorite reads in a long time. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys very near sci-fi. Another vote for this.Good read. Have just finished 11.22.63 - a most enjoyable page turner. Have just started Charlotte mosley's 'the mitfords: letters between six sisters.' Which is proving to be surprisingly entertaining. the mitfords are fascinating- all utterly barking and spread across the whole spectrum of politcal viewpoints

whatsya reading ?, by Deleted on Feb 20, 2015 23:53:51 GMT 1, another one- David Sedaris- Barrel Fever
His first book IIRC and is the product of an active mind + copious weed + time on his hands to come out with the oddest / funniest short stories I have ever read. Dons story is possibly the strangest thing I have ever read- and quite wonderful

David Sedaris is gloriously funny. He reads his short stories on radio 4 from time to time. Great one over Xmas. His delivery is great. And, as you say, his short stories are so funny.

All his books are a good read, Trainspotting was excellent.
