Question on paper weights, by Deleted on Mar 1, 2015 23:39:35 GMT 1, Hi friends, my wife and I want to make some custom paper weights for flattening prints. Any suggestions on what to use as the filling? All I can find are the standard beads for making dolls and bean bags but I want something heavier (more dense). I have a set that uses small glass stones, would would prefer something smaller. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Question on paper weights, by Deleted on Mar 2, 2015 8:15:33 GMT 1, You can use lead buck shot that they put into Shotgun shells...its small and nice n heavy. Or You can use smaller lead split weights/shot that they use for fishing.
Either are cheaper than ball bearings and you can buy in smaller quantitys.
cheers kerry

Question on paper weights, by Sturban Has Saggy Tits on Mar 2, 2015 9:40:34 GMT 1, Damp sand sealed in a plastic bag, then placed in a sock and tied. They are cheap to make but compact and heavy. I use these for holding prints in place while mounting them. Because they are soft and malleable, there is no chance of damaging the prints.

Question on paper weights, by Deleted on Mar 2, 2015 9:45:43 GMT 1, Jade is always nice.
A flat board bit of metal underneath with magnets on top.
A block of 1/2 inch steel plate the size of the print.
A flat board, a plastic bag and a vacuum pump. It worked great when I was doing stuff with pre preg carbon fibre.
an elephant.
