Basically stripping it all back to use just black and white paint to portray human emotion. Ironically, giving myself restrictions like this brings out greater expression. Black acrylic straight onto the canvas with no priliminary sketching. The process is quite frightening, exciting, and satisfying all at the same time. Thanks for your interest.

Good enough reason for me then!  . I once asked an Artist whose works had changed into a darker more gloomy look why he had changed direction with his work, i expected to be told something like... its following societies route and reflecting that in a sort of abstract type way, but he said he had a job lot of darker paints to use!.

My work has always had a dark edge to it and I think it reflects dark times which is quite often what I am trying to do. I guess pop artists in the 60s were reflecting the times but things were probably a lot more optimistic back then.
