Banksy Flying Copper Print, by franksy on Jun 8, 2011 22:18:53 GMT 1, Hi Thanks for the (mostly) sensible advice. I think I will hang fire on getting the Pest certificate and see what the response is here. I can always get one and re-advertise subsequently. Meanwhile the massive price increase Pud mentions is entirely theoretical, while the 60 quid additional expenditure is 100% concrete. Don't assume that because I might have a valuable print that I have much cash; I don't.
A word to the rude. No insulting remarks please. I have been around forums long enough to understand how it brings out the cowards who like to get mouthy from behind their anonymity and say things they just don't have the balls to say if they were face to face with you, so either be courteous or give me your full address then go ahead and be abusive. No? Thought not.
Zippy asked about the basis of the price; I had two authorities (one was Christies, the other a small specialist dealer) tell me I could expect about 5k for it after they took their slice. Since most dealers seem to take a whopping 40% I thought I could add 20% to their estimates and still come in 1k under what a dealer would charge.
Klyde. Is your implication that you occupy a higher moral ground in this respect and , and if not, I don't see the purpose of your comment.
Thanks all.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by Coach on Jun 8, 2011 22:57:29 GMT 1, Not good if people are being abusive towards you (presumably by pm, as there are no abusive comments in the thread). Shouldnt happen imo. Good luck with the sale, and agree with commenst above - unlikely peops will part with that type of cash without a pc coa. But, it's up to you.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by lobster on Jun 9, 2011 0:21:17 GMT 1, I assume Christies were talking about one of their print Auctions in which case for you to achieve ยฃ5K the print would have to sell at around ยฃ7 - ยฃ7500 which is probably a bit strong in this market - the last one at auction got bought in at ยฃ5500 and the one before that at ยฃ6K.
You absolutely have to get PC - frankly you would have to be a complete lunatic to pull up that kind of money for a print of that value without it - just add it on to the price as most buyers will be happy to pay it.
Try some of the smaller "internet" dealers they will have a list of buyers who may be interested and would charge you a lot less than 40%.
I have this print and its a cracker - really big as well - I don't like to comment on other peoples for sale threads re price but feel free to PM me and will give you my view - for what its worth - it will of course be dependant on how quick you want to sell it.I have only ever sold one signed Banksy and I did it a few weeks ago within an hour of posting whereas I see prints on here hang on for months and months.
Good luck with the sale.

Oh you want the Pest control in my hand..ok fine..another ยฃ60 then please - that's cost price to you sir.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by PUD on Jun 9, 2011 16:42:44 GMT 1, I never said you didnt have the cash resource to purchase a COA, my comment was pointing out the fact that you bought the print purely to make a profit (your words) I can only assume the print has made a much larger profit than you could have anticipated when you paid out your ยฃ150. You want to sell the print and now pocket that profit from a forum member, all perfectly acceptable i guess but you don't see why you should obtain a COA for a measly ยฃ50 to go with the print. Just remember mate you are asking TOP money on a forum that knows their subject, perhaps a better approach and a realistic price for cash would have been a better option? I don't hide behind my anonymity, most people on here know me and know that I have been an active, up front member of the forum for years, don't take my number of posts as a guide! Now stop being a tight a*** and buy a COA

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by nacional on Jun 9, 2011 16:57:22 GMT 1, You absolutely do not have to get a PC...I have bought and sold about 10 banksy pieces, originals and prints and have never bothered or been asked to bother with a PC...all pieces are 100% genuine and have never been shafted as it were...
Great print, nice price, good luck with sale
And calling soemone a "tight arse" is abusive by the way...with respect

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by chaturz on Jun 9, 2011 17:09:55 GMT 1, Wow its all getting a bit heated, but what I would say is at that price you could get a signed print + 2 unsigned, which would be a great addition to any wall, if you're willing to shop around. Furthermore I dont claim to be an expert but 6k seems like crazy cash for any signed print, though im sure there are plenty out there with more money than sense, as these are the guys pricing many of us out the market.
PS the above is a personal opinion which I believe we are all entitled to. Good luck with your sale and by all means let us know if someone stumps up the actual asking price.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by craigf on Jun 9, 2011 18:40:51 GMT 1, Lots of opinions on here re COA etc.
The current owner has had it from new and has the original receipt that can easily be used to verify he is the registered owner etc. I am sure he'd work with any prospective buyer re getting a green light on authenticity before cash changed hands.
As for price, its up to the seller to call a price and see what the market makes of it. This isn't a recent release, offers of ยฃ9k have apparently been made for a signed LN and other prints of a similar age and edition have even been called out at above ยฃ10k. Comparing to a signed morons, CYW or other recent release is plain stupid.
Great iconic print, good luck with the sale as this is a great piece for anyone to hang on their wall

I'm not sure which piece I have sold on here you are referring to? I was accused of asking too much for my Faile SE sepia print - but it sold to a decent forum member at a price we were both happy with.
I had a previous sales thread offering up a few small pieces at cost price or any near offers. i do not think that was unreasonable.
I have also offered up my Dface decks for cost price and 2 faile paste ups at a price quoted by a forum meber who recently bought a pair. So I think I was right to use that as my price guide.
If I am missing something else I am sure you will enlighten me.

I know condition will affect the price but any one have a ball oaken figure fir a signed edition. I've seen an unsigned on eBay for 3.5k but that seems a little steep for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also anyone selling a signed flying copper please pm me.
