Banksy Flying Copper Print, by discoduster on Jun 25, 2007 19:38:59 GMT 1, Was around ยฃ800 - ยฃ900 but I don't think one has come up since the unsigned price hike which has put a couple of hundred on most prints it seems (it's all happened very quickly) so my guess would be about ยฃ1000.
And the rest!

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by stuey09 on Jun 25, 2007 19:39:54 GMT 1, Due to the lack of availability, it is difficult to be accurate. If 2 people are determined to buy and one comes up on ebay it will boost the cost by a few hundred quid as they try to outdo each other. I personally don't think there will be many Banksy's on ebay until the release of the next print, when a few entrepreneurs try to cash in. Hopefully there may be a couple of F.C.'s for you, otherwise your going to have to pay whatever the seller asks if you really want one

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by corblimeylimey on Jun 25, 2007 19:42:18 GMT 1, Flying Coppers used to sell for around the same as J&J, maybe ยฃ100ish more, the last J&J went for nearly ยฃ1000.
The one that's for sale now at ยฃ2500 is well overpriced IMO but the seller may get lucky, sometimes when a really unrealistic price is asked less well informed people think they've got a bargain if they offer 30% less, but IMO in this case it should be at least half the asking price.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by tadghostal on Jun 26, 2007 1:20:58 GMT 1, This one sold for 7.6k, what, three days ago? tinyurl.com/yt8rgp Of course, that doesn't help much unless you can find a seller willing to part with theirs for that same price, or ideally, a bit less maybe?
That's the rub though as FC has a lot going for it; older style, among the largest of all Banksy prints, very popular image, and a low run of 150 signed.
When you get the details all hammered out, let us know how it went!

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by dgb133 on Jun 26, 2007 3:23:38 GMT 1, 2500 for that unsigned flying copper is criminal. I sometimes wish ebay were like craigslist and users could flag auctions that were flagrantly obnoxious and or overpriced.
But who can blame these sellers? In this hyped up enviornment you never know what someone will pay and if someone is over emotional enough to fall for this price tag maybe the buyer doesn't deserve their money.
If you want my opinon, thats about how much the signed print should really go for. But my opinon don't count for squat apparently. Maybe next year?

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by hungrig on Mar 9, 2007 12:12:31 GMT 1, "why no negative feedback?"
For whom? The person who won the original auction? Perhaps he had a legitimate/good reason for not completing the transaction or, more likely, the seller did not want to risk receiving retaliatory negative feedback. This is the one key weakness in the eBay feedback system; it is very much open to abuse by dishonest and dishonourable individuals. Another reason why it's worth remaining cautious even when dealing with someone who has 100% positive feedback.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by lesroy on Mar 9, 2007 20:51:50 GMT 1, The reason this has not sold on the TWO occasions is because the damage is massive!
Look at how creased the black body area is... This is why the last two people havent completed the sale.
But as Silky says, this piece is an amazing print and one of banksy's best when in a frame

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by corblimeylimey on Mar 9, 2007 21:40:18 GMT 1, Flying Copper is the only old Banksy that I like a lot that I could possibly afford, I wouldn't buy a creased one, Why did the previous buyers bid? it's in the description and pictures it's clearly not misrepresented.

The only way to salvage it is to frame it mounted, i.e., stuck to a back board which will straighen out all the creases. I've seen my framer do some amazing stuff with creased posters - made them practically disappear, and you can only pick them out if you looked really closely.
I know it would normally be scarilege to mount a print, but if you love this image so much and want it, you won't sell it anyway... so why not make the compromise? Besides, with the creases and all, you wouldn't buy it if you were after resale prospects. So mounting it is really not that bad of an idea.
Just a thought

mmm kind of agree agent - but if you were to mount it and weren't concerned with ever reselling then why not buy a readily available copy for far less cash???

Lets all be honest (IMO) its worth about ยฃ200. Problem is we would all pay that for it.

Well I guess because the creased one, though flawed, is still from the original run and is still fundamentally considered genuine. Of course, if the image is all one is after, then a copy would also do the same job, but I would personally be concerned about how good the copy is in terms of resolution and stuff like that.
So ultimately it boils down to preference. Personally, I would prefer a creased original to a unflawed copy. It's a psychological thing that some people subscribe to that others don't
