Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Anthony Styles on Jul 26, 2020 14:10:47 GMT 1, Any idea on prices for the following. Applause unsigned Stop and Search Colour Trollies CND signed Nola White Cheers guys. Last Nola Auctioned at 60k @ Sothebys, March 2020. However with recent sales ridiculousness it seems this is now a very cheap price. I would expect a white Nola to auction anywhere between 70 - 80k if recent sales of other prints are anything to go by. But then again, who knows

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Extra Ball on Jul 26, 2020 16:59:56 GMT 1, U Over the years I have acquired these two pieces. Both have separate letters from Pest Control stating that although these were made by Banksy they will not receive a PC COA as they were not made for the commercial market. Both are original spray paint, the bag signed on the back in red paint. I am well aware of print values and used to value the liita image the same as an unsigned print - but now this seems a lot with the recent prices of the unsigned liita. Obviously they still have some value if posters are selling up to ยฃ5k - I would be interested in others opinions. I didnโt buy the hand sprayed liita from artprice - I have used this image as it shows the full box - mine is framed. did you receive a confirmation from PCO for this box did you acquire them with the letters or did you apply later? For me, just good to light the fire.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by brycepen on Jul 26, 2020 23:08:48 GMT 1, Youโve gotta to love Banksy print numbering ! Your AP/08 seems to mean AP 08 of 18, but I have an AP numbered AP/10 where it is 1 of 10 APs (and whatโs more the 10 APs have different colours) COAs usually offer a better indication of the run and the questions continue www.prescriptionart.com/products/banksy-weston-super-mare-signed-lime-green-artist-proofwww.art collectorz/artworks/artwork-detail?artwork_id=296&edition_id=11751 I always remember it being 8, and I also remember seeing 8 on the POW website in the old archive section.
Good lord, Iโm not an authority on Banksy by any means, but as an artist that has been trained in printmaking and the proper way to label editions, here is what I know:
-APs are usually labeled APs because they are NOT part of the edition and therefore have no impact on edition sizes/numbering. They are called โArtists Proofsโ because an artist usually messes up a number of drafts before they get a print to come out the way they want. Once they get a print that they decide is the โfinal draftโ, that is what gets labeled the printerโs proof or ARTIST PROOF.
-the โ08โ after AP probably refers to the year the print was made (2008). Usually if there are people that know the quantity of APโs produced, they are the printers, artists, or representatives that provide provenance. If an artist decides to disclose number of the APs in existence by labeling them like an edition (ex. 1/4), that is at the discretion of the artist. However, I will say that it is not the โproperโ way to label a print and put out an edition as it is taught in printmaking courses.
I know this all sounds ridiculous, but there are โproperโ protocols for printmaking and edition labeling. And if an artist disregards the proper protocol, most printmakers will (or should) make the number of APs made clear the same way theyโd label an edition (ex. AP 1/4), meaning that there were 4 Artist Proofs made before the production of the edition, and a piece labeled 1/4 should be the first of the 4 proofs that were made.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Sundowner on Jul 27, 2020 12:35:18 GMT 1, I bought my first Banksy AP from source in 2012. I specifically remember asking about the AP numbering at POW confirmed that the artist always numbers his APs AP/XX. For the avoidance of doubt it also states the AP number (and AP edition size) on the COA.

How close/far off am I on: Choose Your Weapon grey (100): ยฃ45k Unsigned B&W Trollies: ยฃ15k Unsigned Flags:ยฃ10k Thanks Those were last weeks prices. Choose Your Weapon ยฃ55-60 Trolleys ยฃ18-20k Flag ยฃ15-16k By the time you read this probably add another 5% Is that about right for a Flag? I am interested as I have had an offer on mine from a gallery and am getting tempted to sell.
