(2) Erratic bidding pattern from low feedback user

Here, my suspicions are confirmed. 100% of their bidding activity (9 bids on 2 items) in the last 30 days are on this seller's items.

Let's take a look at the seller's recent sale history:



We've seen the bidding history on the first already and we know the shill account had activity on the second, but here is the history for posterity:




And finally, we look at the third listing, which falls outside of the 30-day period reported, so is not represented in the public record of the shill bidder's bidding history:




Fancy that...looks like they turn up again. A click through confirms it is indeed the same bidder.

It is impossible to say with absolute certainty that it is indeed a shill for the seller, however, the odds of a very low activity buyer randomly picking out and choosing to bid on only the 3 items listed by this seller over a 45 day period is very, very low.

Shill bidding is a fact of life, but when a real buyer puts in the winning bid, the sold price is instantly justified. The same bidding (within 5% range) would have happened in the last minute of the auction without the shill bidder influencing action. The winning bidder was willing to pay $8,101, so the shill bids are really there to hold the integrity of the market value. It's a fine line, but gives the seller a translucent layer of protection in lieu of a high reserve. The practice serves this purpose more often than pushes the market higher.

My point is that this looks like a smoking gun on paper, but it didn't change the final hammer price to any quantifiable degree.

Dismissing valid points by taking letters out of my sn is simple deflection. Address my points 
or don't address me at all. 

This is "invader price check", the ebay result is valid.

For me the Invasion pieces are the most iconic, so I'm not surprised at these prices. Compared to Banksy they seem cheap. Now finding them is the hard part, I think Tagliatella Gallery in NY have several in their upcoming Invader show. I inquired and was told the price list has not been set at this time.

That made me feel sick for you! Dappy is right i was being cautious it's more like £12000 in a bidding war...holy fuck would be an acceptable response!
