UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on Apr 11, 2015 19:35:34 GMT 1, Are there any ukip candidates who are actually up to the job of holding public office? Gaff-prone must be an instruction in their manual - the latest (from my local rag): link Farage is a city boy. He is in it for the money and won't blow his big EU salary by getting elected.
Plus he married a German woman so even if the UK left the EU. It won't affect farage as he will get all the EU benefits including travel etc as his wife is German.

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on Apr 11, 2015 19:36:36 GMT 1, The failing of the euro will be a bigger deal than the result of the election. Big coincidence the euro plummeted following the sanctions against Russia.

You are probabaly right- and I can't imagine that this would be a pleasant occurence for those involved- in terms of the political landscape, I would refer to previous currency crises and the unpleasant aftermath that they have produced- noteably in Europe I should add.
Whatever we think of the Euro and the EU, I would not want to see a wholsescale collapse under any circumstances- the likely fallout isn't worth thinking about

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by jonnyx on Apr 11, 2015 19:49:21 GMT 1, For what it's worth I think farage is a pretty smart operator with a fair amount of political nous. He's just chosen a political ideology that attracts what I would call the f***wit fringe. Every day of his life he has to meet these f***wits and he must just be thinking "oh ffs not more f***wits" plaster on a rictus grin press the flesh and move on. I take some comfort that in the small hours of the morning he must wake up and think "oh my god, what have I done".

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on Apr 11, 2015 19:54:38 GMT 1, Farage is laughing all the way to the bank.
easier money than city trading.
The euro has been a propped up failure from day one and it should collapse and so should the EU.
How can a Spanish or Portuguese or Greek euro be Worth the same as a German euro?
It's a scam.

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on Apr 15, 2015 9:07:17 GMT 1, I thought good ole Hilary didn't do so well regarding the attack on the US embassy in Libya.
Plus things like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitewater_controversy#Convictions
There again the US does come across as a personality cult type of country where enogh dollars and cheesy smile gets people to vote for people who are part of an ongoing governing business cartel production line.

How do you think things will pan out in reality? What parties do you think will join to form the next Government?

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Daniel Silk on Apr 29, 2015 22:28:51 GMT 1, Labour coming out on top on the poll here so far. I think this election will really shake things up for decades to come, with such a close result and the two main parties not getting a high percentage of the votes. I think the whole first past the post situation will need to change in future elections, coz with so many parties now involved it not a stable system for the country.

Laugh now, one of these loons really will be in charge.

Or maybe Urban art doesnt like to offend any more? not if 44% of your potential audience is right-wing (if this forum was a constituency anyway). It's hearts, flowers, young children, butterflies, princesses and soft-porn representations of women from here on in. Plus can change. Sigh.

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Daniel Silk on May 1, 2015 18:52:01 GMT 1, Nicola Sturgeon is about to become the most powerful person in UK politics, imo. I think Labour are making a big mistake! If the Conservatives get in due to the way Labour are trying to hedge their bets with voters in England and Scotland, it could damage the party long term, and even push them into third place in future elections.

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on May 1, 2015 19:13:59 GMT 1, On the basis of the bookies odds, then the SNP hold the balance of power post election. That said, it's a close call but you can't see them getting into bed with Cameron?! Bizzarely enough, there could be a scenario where Farage holds the aces.
Terrifying prospect.

UK Election 2015 and Political Art, by Deleted on May 1, 2015 19:45:06 GMT 1, So did Sturgeon take over purely to save face for Salmond and the party after their failure for Scottish Independance?
Sort of we want Independance but we wwill also be happy to be part of the UK?
Time will tell with Sturgeon if she is really in charge or a puppet.
I think at the last minute some UKIP and Labour voters will vote Conservative and the next government won't be a coalition.
Miliband is a nice guy but wouldn't trust Labour at all.
