I think itโs poor form but sadly the etiquette thatโs expected on here nowadays.
This gives me a great opportunity to ask a question thatโs bugging me and hopefully get a sensible answer.
Why on earth would you mind people knowing the price of something you are trying to sell? Why do galleries think all desirable art has to be POA. I find it incredibly irritating personally and it all feels sly.
I canโt think of another industry or retail sector that opporates in this secret way and it massively turns me off.
Hopefully youโll give me a really logical answer....

Itโs about striking a conversation with potential clients. Finding out what theyโre after, what their budget is and how we can help them. Secondary artwork prices are adjusted to reflect the market. KAWS for example has had a particularly strong 6 months, and there is high demand, so the prices rise. So I donโt want to post that X print is for sale at X amount, and then 3 months later someone gets in touch but the price has risen.
Simarly, prices can fall, and some artworks have a bit more room for negotiation than others, so I donโt want a potential buyer being put off by a price when we might be able to make a deal.

I was very happy to say that the artists that I worked with almost always told me about the deception but I am sure a few deuche bags were able to successfully cut out the gallery.

I know as I had a legit one that I had and saw a fake. very difficult to spot fakes as the signatures with sloppy and rushed on the real ones.. great print but hard to authenticate without a paper trail. BTW.
Iโve been frauded with a fake print in the past: very easy to spot once you have it in hand! The back of the fake print is white, while this is black paper so should be all black!
