i have a few kaws items that i am toying with selling but am looking for advice as well as to whether or not i should sell now - or soon - or hold onto even longer than i have already.
i have the pink skull model silkscreen from 1999 A/P 9/9, kate moss white gloves silkscreen and a kaws drawing that he did for a show flyer for a show in vancouver - it's a drawing of bart kimpson walking - not signed. i have as provenance an email from the gallery owner, raif adelberg of made gallery and made magazine, stating kaws drew it for the show. it's approx 10" x 10" and in a frame.
i see some of the comments on the value of the kate moss and think, whoa...maybe now is the time...
i also have a set of chums that i am going to part with. the sad thing is a few of them - the pink, yellow and black - are suffering from sun damage due to poor placement in my home. (i feel like an idiot already so please ...)

A "No future Companion" silver is currently on sale on the bay for โฌ5.8k (with no offers).
As to the mono, I would say around โฌ1k for a private sale. A saw one few weeks ago in a Japanese toy shop for โฌ1.2k.

Judging from previous auctions and a few private sales I've seen them go anywhere from $6000-$9000. Auction settings they typically go for $10-15k with buyer's premium which is around $9k hammer price. There was one Christies HK auction that sold for $27k which is ridiculous/shill bidding.
At $6000 it is very hard to find but if you find the right seller desperate enough, or pawn star/storage junky that doesn't know what he has then it's possible.
I wouldn't touch any Kaws x Sorayama from HK with a 10 foot pole. The safest bet is to have the original shipping carton (not retail box) with kawsone.com shipping label. If in doubt get legit checks on forums.

Regarding the Sorayama's, I saw last Bonhams HK auction in Nov.2016 price was 12.800โฌ all in for the black chrome one..
Unfortunately I do not have the cardboard box with the s/n label, but source is strong and these are 1000% legit.. maybe better enjoy them for more time and let prices growing..

Regarding the Sorayama's, I saw last Bonhams HK auction in Nov.2016 price was 12.800โฌ all in for the black chrome one.. Unfortunately I do not have the cardboard box with the s/n label, but source is strong and these are 1000% legit.. maybe better enjoy them for more time and let prices growing.. Thanks |
