The art world as in the big money is run by lazy and tastless people who have the right connections with the media and the auction houses.
Who invest in this stuff and build it up and sell it on the secondary market and make big money.
The price something sells for makes no difference to me as to the painting or art I look at.
If people buy it they either have a lot of money or they invest in this stuff.
The prints are where an artist makes a lot of money and profit and the small collectors who save up to buy a print, need to see themselves either as investors or as being used.
It's their choice.
It's like anything.
Promote any crap often enough and long enough and people will start to believe in it.
People look at Hirst and say, did I really fall for the hype and buy that plagiarised crap?
Too much hedge fund money and too much energy drink makes one buy anything to be part of the in crowd.

I understand what you're saying but I don't think it's fair to stereotype all the people who run the art world. Look at Laz, he started by selling Banksy prints out of the back of his car. Additionally, there are some other good and reputable galleries that do right by the buyer and the artist. I just had an issue with a print I got from Nelly Duff gallery in England and they were as gracious as could be and said send it back and we will get you a new one STAT (and they commissioned the print). Then there is LSC in Detroit who are great, and UTBNYC great as well, and others too. There are galleries and dealers and collectors who are in it not just for the money but also to promote good artists and good art in general. I understand your point about JJ Adams prints (I personally do not appreciate his work) and what is going on with them. Please realize there are people who buy art for decorative reasons or are simply fair weather collectors. Whatever the case may be, your art world conspiracy theory doesn't hold water across the board. My advice is relax, buy what you like and can afford and don't waste too much energy on hating.

Fantastic set, great numbers from the edfition.
And a sold out print from the latest collection Dance With The Devil 2 
Both can be had at retail, not looking at making money out of these. There are a couple of sets on the bay of R2's with people asking 2k, personally I don't believe that's a fair price.
And the Dance with the devil has sold at ยฃ600 but again I am happy with retail price to give a collector a second bite of the cherry on this print.
