POSE 🇺🇸 Jordan Nickel • Chicago Graffiti Art , by Poly Mindset on Feb 11, 2016 19:41:45 GMT 1, Also passed on the pre-order. Although I think it is now sold out cause it's gone from pre-order page. i like Pose but this image just did nothing for me and yes it seems like his last release was five minutes ago. If he did a self deprecating print with the word GREED in it, I might go for that. His new print is a complete departure from any of his previous prints, so it doesn't bother me much that he released something new. As far as making a self deprecating print with the word GREED in it, I can think of atleast 10 artists that that would sooner apply to, and all of them are touted on this forum. Touche'

I liked that it was different and the colors are amazing. BUT in the end what does not make my wall will end up getting a pass. MOST the time. Sometimes I just buy things like a art addict. Like its a drug.

Mine are a Spiral two and a Dude so this release pulls those together nicely. Want a burn now though!

POSE 🇺🇸 Jordan Nickel • Chicago Graffiti Art , by Inknart on Feb 11, 2016 20:47:41 GMT 1, He posted another canvas similar to Drown on his IG, looked incredible.
Maybe he will release 2 more similar prints for another set of 3.
I think Burn, Spiral and Dude were very similar and deckled. Though this may not look good alone, could look incredible if 2 more are released in similar fashion.

Seems like four a year every three months or there abouts. I appreciate the pace, as it offers something for everyone; those that enjoy the wide array of subject matter/imagery, those that only enjoy the more figure/portrait work and those just want to collect him. Doesn't feel like over-saturation to me and each edition just gets better and better.

POSE 🇺🇸 Jordan Nickel • Chicago Graffiti Art , by kwatis on Feb 12, 2016 15:11:28 GMT 1, I couldn't pass on this one, so I pulled the trigger. Cannot wait to see the colors in person. And to those who passed cuz it wouldn't look as good hung next to some of the other editions, spread it around you whole house. I personally enjoy hanging work not in groups of the same artist, but intermingled with other artists and salon-style walls with a mix of stuff. But that's just me and my two cents.

What is there to complain about? The earliest you could get DUDE was at the opening of Work In Progress gallery on November 27. It was then released to the general public early December.

Fair enough. Still nothing to troll over

POSE 🇺🇸 Jordan Nickel • Chicago Graffiti Art , by met on Feb 14, 2016 23:38:32 GMT 1, I was told that is called an "iris" print An Iris print used to be digital/inkjet type thing. Before Giclee became a term. "Giclée" may already be old-hat — or passé.
In some quarters, the au-fait marketing term is now "archival pigment print".
It's a bit like estate agents, property developers or residents' groups rebranding neighbourhoods to increase their cachet and buyer appeal.

Well said! And just because it's hand-pulled doesn't mean the quality suffers. A lot of printers/artists say use the term hand-pulled to infer that the registration might wander and that there will be random imperfections. It seems like POP!NK are illustration the fact that hand-pulled can be done really well. Their Pose editions look like paintings, the way the colors are vibrant and seem to sit on the surface of the paper. Truly beautiful work.

In the world of fine art — as opposed to industrial commercial uses — I've never seen the hand-pulling of screenprints (versus mechanised screenprinting) as anything but a strong selling point.
The minor imperfections or variations, if any and within limits, are actually valued by most collectors because they're evidence of more direct human involvement in the creation process.
