Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by Ruggs on Jun 15, 2015 14:36:59 GMT 1, Some Eelus art related stuff you might be interested in.
Art Yard Sale News For those who came to the recent Art Yard Sale in Brighton, massive thanks for queuing in the wind and rain to say hello and pick up a few bits. Also, apologies for being an overwhelmed 'rabbit in the headlights' who was quite obviously not expecting such an amazing turnout.
If you're still waiting on bits to be delivered, these will be going out at some point this week. There will also be a few extras going up on my website in the next few days, along with the postcard books and sticker packs that I know a lot of you are waiting for.
Big thanks as always. E.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by tab1 on Jun 15, 2015 14:50:50 GMT 1, I think this may be a potentially nice idea by Art Republic & Eelus, everyone who registers an interest gets a chance to grab the numbered edition. If they miss out they are automatically offered the PP edition (unknown quantity). Thus the result been everyone who wants the image gets a chance to purchase it at source and not on the secondary market. Only my thoughts but wouldnt this be a great idea if it was the case... Thoughts???
I called the studio
The purpose to register is to give you the exact time they shall be releasing the print so you can log onto the site on release day at the exact time
There fore your not guaranteed a print or allocated one , just how fast you can push the buy button;-) or keep refreshing the page as usual?!
Kind of helps for the keen collectors as your given the time of release so a little head start than the general site visitors

Yes, the boys right foot looks odd to me, I guess it's meant to look like it's gripping the 'light beam' but looks a little big.

Same thing I mentioned to the staff member slightly rephrased differently followed by silence But still a heads up
On their side easy PR. To send those that signed up news on their products etc

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by pokodogo on Jun 16, 2015 14:23:01 GMT 1, The other question is do Art Republic need the exposure, many of us know about them anyway and I frequently visit their site.
A large customer database always looks good and with regular mail drops they are bound to gain the odd sale here and there. Surely its just common practice these days.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by pokodogo on Jun 16, 2015 14:38:45 GMT 1, Agreed GAT, but its nice to know its a larger edition size with a (as yet unspecified run of PP) thus hopefully giving whoever wants to purchase at source the chance to get the print......
Hopefully this we stop would be flippers hiking the price up, although an initial secondary market price wouldnt be that astronomic, ATR held at 350-600 for over 12 months before reaching current levels of 1k.
This time around with this release, there are more to satisfy demand which will keep the secondary market price pretty low which in turn equals less / no profit for flippers!

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the positive feedback regarding the new Eelus print release and also wanted to provide you with further information regarding the shipping of this edition.
The prints we be shipped within a week of the release and will be despatching in a 15cm wide tube, with 4mm wall. This type of tube has been recommended by the publishers and will allow for the print to arrive to you with a minimum amount of rolling.
Your feedback regarding how our orders are despatched is very much appreciated and we hope that these changes will improve how the final product is received.
Further information on the release will be published shortly.
Many thanks

However, the main thing for me is how well the print is packaged within the tube. Believe me, even professional galleries get this part so wrong. On so many occasions i've received a print which is poorly packaged. It's allowed to move within the tube during transit and gets degrees of damages to the exposed ends of the tube. A little bit of time and patience would be appreciated on this part and hopefully everyone will get a lovely, smelly, pristine print in the post.

A little bit of time and patience would be appreciated on this part and hopefully everyone will get a lovely, smelly, pristine print in the post. Ruggs is correct in that it really has to do with the packing of the tube and not the tube itself. A nice thick wall tube is a great start to prevent tube damage in transit but I have found many like to roll prints using the full diameter of the tube, even letting it unroll a bit to hug to the tube sides as it seems more secure. This is the worst one can do as the print needs to be in a smaller tight roll within craft paper and plenty of extra room on the ends. I also crunch the ends of the craft paper a bit with this extra room by having the total length of the paper a few inches longer than the tube so it compresses when the end caps are put on, which gives extra insurance in keeping the print from sliding down the roll where the end damage occurs and also restricts any vertical motion in transit. I have shipped hundreds of prints using this method and have yet to have one damaged outgoing print. Incoming... well that's a different story.

Is a shame than a top artist like Eelus give to a pore gallery like you a print for sale!!
What you going to to sale 10 and the rest you will go on the web 3 times more expensive like you did with previous artist??

This type of tube has been recommended by the publishers and will allow for the print to arrive to you with a minimum amount of rolling. Your feedback regarding how our orders are despatched is very much appreciated and we hope that these changes will improve how the final product is received. Further information on the release will be published shortly. Many thanks Artrepublic.com [ Is a shame than a top artist like Eelus give to a pore gallery like you a print for sale!! What you going to to sale 10 and the rest you will go on the web 3 times more expensive like you did with previous artist?? Completely agree

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by loother on Jun 20, 2015 11:58:22 GMT 1, Some Eelus art related stuff you might be interested in. If you're still waiting on bits to be delivered, these will be going out at some point this week. There will also be a few extras going up on my website in the next few days, along with the postcard books and sticker packs that I know a lot of you are waiting for. Big thanks as always. E. I've been keeping an eye on his site this week, and see this morning that he's selling postcard books (link) for ยฃ10 (+ยฃ4 UK P&P). This is the first I've seen of the promised "few extras" โ have I missed anything?
