The show is fabulous. The quality of the work jaw dropping.
Real pleasure to meet up with Ferelthings, 11 amd Rat Catcher.
Went on the the Magda Gallery. That was a great experience in an amazing space. Well worth a visit. Saw works by Reni Riugh, Pure Evil, N Walker, Futura, and many many more.
Then spent the day being shown round by my eldest who now lives in Covent Garden.
Utterly brilliant day.
Had a lovely time at Laz yesterday.

I was quite impressed with the Lucas show - more so than from my initial view of the PDF (as is always the case). The work was really clean and crisp and execution was superb. I gain some real enjoyment from standing before a painting and it looks like a photo, regardless of angle or light or anything yet take two steps towards it and you can see the brush strokes and details of a painting. The ability to create photo-Realistic paintings is astounding and think the chrome pieces really emphasised the skill and quality he possesses.
I would have liked to have seen a broader range of work and more portraiture but only because those I've seen previously are incredible so that's just my personal wish.This body of work was very well assembled and presented beautifully. Even the textual pieces were impressive in the flesh and the layout in the gallery was perfect

I agree. I was looking at the painting of the Savage extinguisher. I found myself squinting and realised it was because of how well the bright reflection is painted down the middle. Incredible painting.

Bloody photography!! I only started it as a bit of fun...as well as wanting to fill in as we lost a couple of our prolific photographers. Now I fear I'm beginning to get a bit of a bug and am trying all sorts of things with aperture, priority......I've had this camera 2 months and already thinking I need to upgrade
Don't know about art forums, think i may be off looking for a new mistress

I was much happier after seeing the pieces with my own eyes as you really get very little from the PDF. There weren't many pieces that stood out from the catalogue but after looking at them there were very few (none) that I wouldn't have hung - they were all excellent pieces in their own right and for their own merits.
Chrome extinguishers aside, The yellow basketball with the lemons was one of my favourite pieces and amazingly was still available as was the painting of the full chrome extinguisher - I can only assume they had run out of red dots.

It's a crying shame that we lost our photographers (or that some don't post as often as they used to). I miss their contribution.
I am glad that a few are still posting pics, yiurself included 11. Especially pictures of street art.
