There was one listed on eBay for $2,250, which was listed as an AP and the colors appeared to be slightly off, but it's no longer listed (nor is there a record of it selling)... There is one other on ebay at this time which is available at $4,750 and has tape marks on the back edges/corners as well as pinholes (This is taken directly from that listing: "Condition: Overall very nice condition. Will look great framed. However please note there is one small pin hole in each corner, and one small discolored tape glue impression in each corner on the backside."). The print that I have listed here has no discernible damage/discoloration, and comes professionally framed to archival standards.

$4k+ is a big number for a Shepard print. There are only a few iconic 90s images that will fetch that much (this isn't one of them), those images come up very rarely and condition isn't as big a factor as you would think when they do come up for sale.

There is one on Ebay that hardly sells for 2,250 USD, for info According to Fairey's people, they believe (but would not definitively say) that the one on ebay appears to be a paster that the owner had Fairey sign at a later time... The rep went on to say that the owner may or may not have written "AP" on the print after it was signed... but again, as they only had photos to work with, they would not state that with certainty. |
