That said if they can provide the relevant information I take it all back

You are correct - PC does issue COAs for certain "gift prints" but apparently not for all - making the "gift prints" with COAs all the more special...IMO

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by cmc on Sept 15, 2017 4:51:50 GMT 1, Theoretically if someone pays through paypal and the information in the description and therefore the print turns out to be false/fake - i.e the emails from pest, photo's of print owner/worker, pay slips. Can't you claim and get a refund anyway?

Can't you claim and get a refund anyway? I think it's relatively secure. I also think it's real.
Full disclosure, I put in a bid.
Only thing that makes me hesitant is the lack of seller history.

Just out of interest why would you put in a bid so early? It seems pointless to bid on something until the very last second in my eyes? Doesn't bidding early just give heaps of time for other buyers to outbid you ?

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Pattycakes on Sept 15, 2017 9:00:09 GMT 1, It's real. It's also non saleable on the open market i.e. through auction, because there is no cert and there never will be. No auction house anywhere will accept this. So if you buy you'll only be buying because you love it... ahhh isn't that a rarity these days

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Matt on Sept 15, 2017 9:29:33 GMT 1, So if you buy you'll only be buying because you love it... ahhh isn't that a rarity these days And therein lies the problem with this one : there is no way you can buy this image because you like the art.
It is so outrageously tacky and ugly and ridiculous, that is can only be meant as a joke.
So if you were staff there, and thus part of the joke, this print has meaning and it connects, and that's cool.
But if you weren't staff there, you can't seriously be buying this for the art. You are either victim of the hype (same one that has people buying unofficial LP for wayyyy too much) or trying to make some dough out of it (which is fine, live and let live eh)
I think that is the genius btw with this Banksy print. It has neither point nor value if you weren't part of the crew

I've used that method in the past putting in a bid last minute and the listings been ended before the auction ends and sold presumably to the highest bidder very annoying, I've contacted the buyer and they said all the details will be made available the the winner can't see why they can't tell me the name on the print etc? The winning bidders going to see it all anyway!

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Dice on Sept 15, 2017 11:51:36 GMT 1, Pest control always issue a standard email with gift prints or other promos like blowpop covers etc saying they will not authenticate such items.
Then people sell such items with these emails and use the emails as a form of provenance and legitimacy.
Tread carefully.

Really I quite like it I suppose it's down to individual taste I like the fact the style of the print isn't in a typical Banksy style

Thanks for the advice I've already got a couple of pieces so I'm not totally new to this I'm not looking to flip it so I'm not too worried about the COA as I know what pest are like on these gift prints. I suppose my thinking is most Banksy prints are available for sale all the time and these come up very rarely with as good a prov as this seems to have. The art market is a funny game and in the future as long as it's got very strong provenance that can't be argued with I personally see these being very sought after just on the fact so few were made compared to a normal addition. Also I'm with a few others in thinking that these will get authentification in the future when the dust settles.ice never understood Banksy's position on not authenticating these on pest site it says authenticating works to protect buyers from forgerys it doesn't say anything about unless it was a gift it's a strange stance to take the only reason that can be behind it is that he doesn't want to let the people he gifted it to sell it on why? Mostly these were students who when i visited anyway did a great job at acting dismal Banksy could of easily given a COA to each of them and if they sold them to get their first car or a deposit on a flat good luck to them would it of really harmed him? I think not so I for one don't mind paying what is not a lot of money for a signed and if it helps someone out all the better. Rant over

Rant over If you like it go for it which is what Art is all about and I agree with what you said mostly but pretty sure you won't ever get a Pest Control coa for a gifted print unless Banksy personally verifies he gifted it to you as I've found out with one of mine which has been verified and confirmed by POW as genuine and gifted to a fellow artist but on the basis it wasn't personally gifted to me and is in effect third hand/ backdoor they won't have any of it hence why I think it's safer to buy a piece with a pc coa, good luck either way.

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Daniel Silk on Oct 14, 2017 0:25:10 GMT 1, Im guessing it means you get one tshirt? One design? I find it a bit confusing coz it's says "tshirt bundle" as if your getting all three, but then it says "lucky dip" as if you get one design randomly.
What do you think?
