Other UK councils should take note and not underestimate what art and creativity can do for their economy. Take a chance. Be creative. Give the people something to see and do. Flog some s**t. Did they know ? - other than presumably getting a tidy fee for leasing the site to Grey Fox I doubt they gave a cardboard fish finger for the rest of Weston. I'm sure they'll bask in the glory of it all but I'm not too sure they played that much of a role.

I was actually led to believe that for the large part there were only 1 or 2 councillors privy to what was really going on, probably as much to do with secrecy as anything else but other than Health & Safety regulations and some licensing they wouldn't have really had done much else (i wouldn't have thought)

I'm really just going from conversations I had with the many B&B owners I stayed with, Shop Keepers and other locals that I spoke to. I think they see the Council as one that has left the town to slide into disrepair and the local policies have had a profound effect on tourism and the local economy. I would believe that only one or two Councillors themselves would have known as if any more of the Members (Cllrs) would not have been able to hold their tongue for the self serving publicity - they are politicians - and the first one spill the beans to take the glory and all that!
... it was the Officers of the Council that did a splendid job ...

When got back home, checked all my stuff and found out that some of the woodchips were actually hand signed by Banksy himself! On the bay soon... save your self the ebay and paypal fees, and put it on here, there are a some VERY serious collectors who i am sure would love a one off signed wood chip
