The New York Invasion print is definitely very nice in person and they did talk a bit about their intent to have something available for new fans. It is definitely a a nice open edition off-set litho so it is worth exactly $75 and has no resale value as long as they are still up in the Faile store. It is well printed and on nice stock so consider it on par with the Fairey open editions other than not all of them are signed.
I have always thought it was great that shep had a few nice images available to anyone and everyone as signed open editions. After a few years he pulls them and makes something else available. So i have no doubt that there will come a time in the future that they will get tired of this open edition and pull it, but until then it is a really nice thing for new and existing fans to hang and enjoy.

The show had many similar images in different colors (there were a few awesome neon Faile dogs), so maybe it was up there somewhere, but I don't think that's what it'll look like. Different version.

Doubt it will be that color scheme under a blacklight given the litho colors; there's probably a way you can throw the litho image in Photoshop and figure out the blacklight effect. A quick word of warning regarding florescent black light images, they are likely to fade very quickly without the protection of UV resistant glass. May not be an issue for the open edition, but signed owners should take care. RH |
