My thoughts exactly, Nuart.
Looking at his body of work, I am definitely seeing some evolution/devolution themes running strong. It seems he has been taking it in reverse...The question is, what is being killed and where there be growth from it again?

New Dolk murals in Denmark, by kultur on Sept 3, 2015 20:23:07 GMT 1, Dolk did kind of introduce us to his new style in his last print run 3 X Chief and it sure seemed to sell out and go for crazy money on the secondary market.
Buffing or art including buffing has been on this forum for as long as I have. People do not seem to bash Faile or BORF (John Tsombikos) or BOXI and they do quite similar things.
I do not get what he is doing with this new work, but I am looking everyday to see what he is doing. So I guess it is working. Just sit back and see where it goes. If you know anything about Dolk, he doesn't explain his work to anyone apparently.

I might just be blanking right now, but when did Faile do anything that incorporated buffing?

If you have watched any interviews by them or even read any interviews you would know that they are fascinated with the way that things end up on the street and how they are buffed/torn/exposed/repainted and given new life.
For example - Just look at any of the 150 series and you will see that they put an image down and then buff it and then put a new image over it. They often use multiple buffing stages. They often used ripped tape on pieces - placed strategically and then painted over it and then remove the tape pieces so that it looked like torn off street posters.
I guess the same goes for BAST also then as he does the same thing. It is also possible that many people on here did or do not see the process that makes Faile - Faile.
Maybe it is time there is a shift in this forum to actually talk about the art and the processes rather than the prices.

Just throwing this out there: your condescending tone isn't going to win you any friends, or arguments. And what Faile does isn't considered, in any traditional sense, "buffing". It's just not like Borf's Rothko series, or Dolk's new thing...at all. It's paint, collaged images, and coffee stains etc.

I have been following Faile since the early 2000s and did my first interview with them in 2006. They are also one of the most prominently featured artists in my book from last year, so I am quite familiar with their work.
While, as you say, they are certainly inspired by the processes and layering that goes on in the street (as can be seen in their use of painted rips in some of their prints and paintings), I have never thought of their studio work as incorporating buffing per se, and certainly not in any way that is comparable to that of Borf or the new work by Dolk.

New Dolk murals in Denmark, by batemanz on Sept 3, 2015 22:11:53 GMT 1, Tagging, bombing and buffing has been in many of Dolks works : toy, evolution and 3xchief. The art, the tagging, the buff. Almost like the lifecycle of art on the street.
Hopes his new direction leads to some great new works along the way:-)

New Dolk murals in Denmark, by kultur on Sept 3, 2015 22:36:17 GMT 1, That some do not see much of Faile's art as buffing - is their opinion. When something is there purposely... and then wiped away ... and then rebuilt in a new way... well... that is buffing or part of the process. They could simply just put a single image up on a piece of paper... but it is the process which makes it look the way it does. The Patricks also say that they often work on multiple pieces at the same time building and buffing each others work (and now the work of their assistants) and then going back to it later to do some more.
I am not here to win any argument, I was asked to elaborate by two people. As for condescending tone. Text is hard to imply tone and as for gaining friends on here simply by agreeing with the masses and bashing artistic expression was never my thing. Also, someone with condescending tone rarely would take the time to embellish or invite conversation.
BTW...who is to say that Dolk isnt going back to do something with these 100 street pieces later? Would that be buffing?
MOBSTR uses other people to buff his art to make a statement and interact with it. Very successfully I might add.
Saber has been doing buffing as part of his street work since the late 90's. Most of his art now has some level of buffing in it.

Interested to read your definition of 'crazy money'
So Dolk is killing it, a better summation would be boring it
