FS: Banksy Rats, Happy Chopper & WSM, by Fish in the Sea on Aug 6, 2015 8:47:26 GMT 1, No PC and framed = No cigar for me but good luck none the less. I find it interesting that a lot of sellers take offence when i ask them to de-frame and send me some pic,s of the whole print I have even had a couple tell me to go and get fracked and how dare i request such a thing as it suggests that i am being un-trusting which of course i am. You are 100% andyroo0312 and to be honest deframing and inspection should be the rule and not the exception with any print of significant value. I have had countless instances where myself, customers and close friends have taken significant losses both from private parties and galleries alike, all claiming the pieces were in "perfect" or the infamous "mint" condition. Our circle has all adopted that if they won't deframe and take pictures, or at least have a professional service do it ( at no cost to them), then it's an easy PASS. With the overwhelming quantity of damaged and improperly framed pieces out there, it's truly russian roulette to have it any other way and trust me 4 of those 6 cylinders are loaded. I asked same thing to the seller but was told that due to the amount of interest there were going to be sold like that I am therefore out

I think this is perfectly fair. I guess if you are 100% happy with the seller due to previous dealings or multiple recommendations then maybe you might let the unframing go but I think you definitely would want the COA. That being said with what happened to poor Christoffergaddini, who can tell these days. Unfortunately the days are gone when integrity was guaranteed and your word was your handshake. Its a shame, it really is. On the bright side, I'm sure poofly's bud will sort out the COA's and there will be some very happy owners in the future as they seem great prints and competitive prices. I do want to say that my statement was just advice for all sales and was by no means conveying anything negative about the pieces offered here. They might be in great condition and on the sellers side, it they are so and you can show this via pics it is guaranteed to not only help the sale speed but price obtained as well.

Six Banksy prints with no COAs I know stranger things have happened but let's not forget Christoffer Gaddini. I have to agree that you should get this sorted cause it is a red flag.
I dont think 6 Banksys owned by one bloke without COA's is overly strange if buyer bought them direct from POW in the pre-COA days and had no intentions of selling until now. Why pay a couple of hunded quid for certificates he didnt need until now ? Might not even need them now as some folks might buy them with POW receipts as provenance and get COA themselves, most buyers wouldnt but some may !

I don't agree. For the sake of a couple of hundred quid you may well double or triple your potential market and therefore increase your sale value. Like selling a car without an MOT

As for the COA's, Kintreton is right, the owner bought from POW and has had them on his wall for years, and the need for COA's never came up until last night when I told him to get them sorted out. He's now getting that sorted out.

I said that due to the amount of interest its unlikely that it would get to the point where they would need to be deframed for them to sell. Not that it can't happen.

I fully agree with you in terms of increased sales potential with COA and i wouldnt be interested without COA, only ever bought one without COA but that was in person at Laz Gallery in Greek Street and COA duly arrived few weeks later.
I just said that i didnt, still dont think it strange that they had no COA's and Poofly has duly explained what i thought would be the case and it appears COA process is now in hand.

Additionally, who ever picks up the D*Face uncut top sheet for Rome snowboards is gonna get a killer piece at a very fair deal imo. I'd pick it up myself but shipping it framed to the US is cost prohibitive and so is getting it and reframed once it gets here. Someone across the pond should jump on it. GLWTS
