Stik Sleeping Baby, by natstan on Sept 29, 2015 12:55:52 GMT 1, Thanks again for all the well wishes. I have given up on this print after seeing the crazy asking prices. Good luck to people still searching. Wow. I dont keep up with Stik as Im not too keen, so I had to check what these crazy prices were. I had no idea and said to myself, "REALLY?!!!". Outrageous. Hope someone helps you out man. Congrats!
That's some crazy money for a numbered edition, no matter how much emotion people say six strokes and a colored background brings on. Money big enough to buy some (or top up a bit more) for OGs. And to be fair, this is really one of the prints by the man which I personally like.
Great on the part of stik to selflessly contribute for a charitable cause but shame on these folks who really buy it with every intent to only sell it for as much money as they can possibly get (well within their prediction on how much premium these prints will command). Sometimes I wonder if karma really happens to these people.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by cyberkid on Sept 29, 2015 18:23:44 GMT 1, ... how much is one of the original small canvases ... the ones he did in the underground/tube pop up Gallery?? you can not get any stik canvas (more than about 45 inch) for under 10k.... commissions are beginning (!) by 12k. but you have nearly no chance - he's making more street art than working in the studio. prints are rare and canvasses, too. if you are looking for any canvasses contact "imitate modern". you will find some very nice and large canvasses for about 14-18k. Ask for Anna.
etc.

Why WOULD and SHOULD ? Was it done by the homerton art department staff? No! It was not on the official press release and staff did not organise it and as far as staff at reception said they said via phone call they would release tickets to first 100 at 5 pm so a lot of confusion , good if you got one! People that are so eager to que at 5am are obviously eager to get them and don't always share information so unless from official source some will chance their luck

Stik Sleeping Baby, by Hubble Bubble on Sept 29, 2015 19:03:39 GMT 1, My point was simply that if you're going to rock up at 10am and be prepared to queue for 7 hours in the hope of getting a print for which you're obviously only borderline entitled due to the existing numbers in the queue, then surely you'd do a bit of due diligence and enquire of your fellow queuers if any system of numbering has been established or, at least, estimate your own position and then, armed with this information, decide on how to spend the rest of your day.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by iamzero on Sept 29, 2015 20:15:34 GMT 1, HB has a point tabtab. I don't remember anyone being secretive about having one of the green unauthorised tickets and all 100 were given out early on to help avoid the inevitable pushing in... Which some beardy dude tried to do at about 5pm when our block of 10 went through to pay. But yes security did say that they wouldn't be issuing official tickets until 5pm.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by shadowuk on Sept 29, 2015 21:34:31 GMT 1, I set off at 4:30 and got the the queue mid morning. I wasn't told tickets had been issued. I hear later in the morning that a guy turned up at 7 am and handed out raffle tickets to people so him and his friends could get to the front as people left after the tickets had been issued. But that was just Chinese whispers. Once I heard about this I messages Stik on Facebook and within 20minutes he replied to me to tell me that No tickets had been given out that he was aware of.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by tab1 on Sept 30, 2015 13:55:16 GMT 1, Lol scare mongering on the queues to put future buyers off next event ;-)
No one pushed in Just some pretty irate people at the back of the queue when people sat by the wall at the front thinking they're pushing in ,
Peaceful event just lack of organisation and information leading up to the opening
As said some guys travelled far and booked time off work.
some ended up with 2 or more prints , massive prints anyway and once framed rather grand
looks like if your prepared 4 am queue next time :-) Secondary market if patient will subside

As with a lot of his earlier work the longer you wait the harder & more expensive it gets to obtain imho. Oh how i wish i pulled the trigger on a canvas at the 2011 show in London

Stik Sleeping Baby, by edibleeyeballs on Sept 30, 2015 14:50:56 GMT 1, it was bang out of order to see graffiti street ( he had a graffiti street top on so iโm not outing him per say) first tried to push in then when he realised we had tickets was offering ยฃ3-400 for the ticket. Bet he had clients prepared to pay 4 times that. must have cos he was that desperate was on the security guard. I actually heard him trying to argue that he was in the queue but was getting a coffee when the โunofficialโ and โfixedโ tickets were given out. Him and his employed staff went at this guard for easily over an hour. it was only when the fellas at the front realised what he was up to and called him out did he skulk off and join the back of the queue.ย
A professional gallery trying to push in like some other weasels. it was an anxious time as i could see there were more bodies slipping in who must have known 100 people had a ticket each, so trying to get one without a ticket was basically robbing those at the other end 1 by 1ย
Until I heard that the hospital where demanding the tickets from the morning i was shitting it i would be robbed and it was so fcking sick to see them weasely wankers have to admit they were attempting to con others out of a print and get ejected - you know who you are - SHAME ON YOU ALL
