Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by melroseandfairfax on Jun 9, 2011 21:08:49 GMT 1, Lol, HighinLA needs to smoke some 'kinder' herb.
Hey, haters always going to hate. Its like water off a ducks back. Especially when the success of the blog, and Alec, are both doing so well.
Lots of people hate on LA's street art scene. We have some personal qualms about some elements ourselves. Not all of its great, but at the same time it is the most vibrant and active, arguably of anywhere in the world. And M&F even though is the only blog to focus on only one city, based on hits and web traffic, it is currently the #2 ranked street art blog in the world, second only to Wooster.
Love it or hate it, big things are happening in LA. Its too bad that a handful of folks on this blog don't like it, but most of LA is on board and has been incredibly supportive.
Congrats on the show, Alec~ Hope it goes well!

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by skem on Jun 9, 2011 21:11:48 GMT 1, I personally like some street artist out in LA but to call your "friends"/ artists the best in the city or the world is by far not a correct statement

Hey Mr. Bankrupt Slut, isn't it the part of your day when you run back to Kidrobot Melrose store to buy some more dunny's just so you can mutilate those already ugly vinyl figures, slap some of you stickers on them, stick em up above someone else's piece, and have the decency to call your work "STREET ART"... shortly after, run back to your hovel so you can post your own "work" on your "#2 Street Art Blog" and give yourself props.

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by skem on Jun 10, 2011 1:23:01 GMT 1, I check it at least once a day also, just tired of seeing the same few artist post a sticker that needs to be blogged about or M&F crying when one of their guys art is gone over, it's the nature of the beast.

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by Deux Spin on Jun 10, 2011 15:20:08 GMT 1, I was DJing at the event last night, and got to meet Alec who's a cool guy and has talent.
His art went down well with the London crowd and quite literally flew off the walls. It was priced to sell, and it did! I couldn't believe how many red stickers I saw within the first hour Graffik Gallery opened.
The exhibit is open for another 2 weeks, if you're around Notting Hill - pop in!

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by twist65 on Nov 21, 2011 23:22:47 GMT 1, hahaha! THe award for best PR drivel of the year goes to Shana Beth Mason -
In an excerpt from Alec Monopoly: Ammunition for the Guerrilla Artist, Miami-based consultant and critic Shana Beth Mason writes: Alec's artistic motive appears to be twofold: a direct, pointedly negative commentary on the structures he paints, and the marketing of that politic utilizing a cultural icon associated with a treasured family activity, specifically within the American collective consciousness. In a more controlled, commercial gallery setup, Alec's work translates from an expletive gesture towards the invisible bureaucratic juggernaut into a multi-faceted array of Pop culture icons interspersed with financially-apocalyptic newspaper clippings. What separates his efforts from other high-profile graffiti artists who have effectively transitioned into the commercial art sphere (a.k.a. Banksy and Mr. Brainwash) is his tireless emphasis on the emotional experience of the American financial crisis, alongside a deeper attraction to the anti-hero personas of Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, and Christian Bale

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by nrgball on Feb 28, 2013 17:17:33 GMT 1, I have an Alec Monopoly Original that I am passing on. Im trying to get a price check on it. It's stenciled, spray painted, hand painted and there may be marker as well and signed on canvas. The image is of Jack Nicholson. If someone could upload some photos for me I would appreciate it. I don't have photo bucket.

Alec Monopoly 🇺🇸 Graffiti • Street Art • Print Release, by Sacked... on Dec 19, 2013 13:17:55 GMT 1, Street art's increasingly mainstream journey has reached Justin Bieber. In anticipation of the pop singer's concert documentary Justin Bieber's Believe, famed L.A.-based graffiti artist Alec Monopoly will be live-painting a mural on the red carpet on December 18.
Yes, really. However, it might not be such a strange pairing as Bieber seems to be going on a graffiti rampage lately, tagging up some truly hideous monsters and brightly-colored cartoon blobs throughout the world—from Australia to Colombia and Canada. He was even under fire recently for spray painting what critics thought looked like a racist monkey.
