I picked up this unique print at the show he did in 2011 (Graffik Gallery). I don't have it anymore unfortunately...

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by HHills on Jan 29, 2015 19:11:15 GMT 1, I'd have to say Alec M...but just barely. I agree with Polymindset in that his "iconic" work makes me want to hurlβ¦it is truly awful and just f'ing ugly. He has no fine art skill, originality, or understanding of a color scheme.
The only thing worse than traffic in L.A., is his attempt at street art.

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by gorkie on Jan 29, 2015 20:22:31 GMT 1, When I see work from Alec and also Bambi I feel genuine annoyance and disdain.
Truly terrible. Both of them.
They should get married and make artwork together. Maybe 2 x terrible = palatable.

Let's throw Brainwash in there ... as they say, 2 Wrongs don't make a Right, but 3 Rights do make a Left.

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by met on Feb 1, 2015 7:52:49 GMT 1, Im looking for a good friend with questionable taste in art Entertaining thread.
This is the way it comes across to me:
1. You have a friend willing to spend hundreds, perhaps thousands, of dollars or pounds on bad art.
2. By doing so, they would also be supporting (directly or indirectly) an artist who behaves like a prat and appears to be on good terms with, and share the values of, the likes of Justin Bieber.
3. You are proactively assisting your friend to make a purchase which you yourself seem to believe would be a misguided, expensive mistake.
--------
Have you thought this through, including your role as facilitator here?
If the good friend were a junkie, presumably you'd be taking him to rehab rather than helping him score.

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by Deleted on May 13, 2015 18:50:00 GMT 1, There is too much of that going on here recently, there was another FS thread earlier which was exactly the same. New members are lovely, but, this shouldn't be used by them as their own sales website with contributing anything.
It needs to be looked at - properly, Daniel Silk.

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by Drymounted on Sept 10, 2015 22:25:40 GMT 1, I know he's not too big on this board, but it's pretty interesting to see what's happened to Alec Monopoly. It seems Mike Mozart has finally spoken up to let the world know that he's been Alec's ghost artist all along. This was announced shortly after Alec's Forever 21 release, and the result below shows his true hand skills once Mike Mozart pulled his designs.
Still seems pretty hush for the general population and Alec supporters, as his Instagram comments seem pretty moderated. Interested to hear some commentary on the situation though... It's an interesting situation as it seems the art was appreciated by quite a few collectors, yet it seemed that the persona of Alec is what interested his collectors most. Will Mike be able to pickup Alec's fan base, or does this just show that image is as important as skill?
It seems a lot like the MBW formula, but MBW was much more forthcoming...Is the upfront honesty what kept/keeps MBW relevant? Will Monopoly still stay relevant in the US despite the news, due to his image, or will the bottom fall out?
Check out instagram.com/mikemozart/ for more examples...

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by Deleted on Sept 10, 2015 22:30:13 GMT 1, An open secret in the community, only ignoramuses who had the wool pulled over their eyes by unscrupulous gallerists relating it to "street art" bought his ridiculous, irrelevant work. He's gone. Good ! The streets breathe a sigh of relief.

His brother "manages" his career and has sold so much junk out west, not to mention fleabay. Zero talent and all hype. Truly horrible and to be honest discovering he didn't make the work really doesn't make it any worse than it already was. This Mike actually seems like an ok guy and you can be sure he'd never be caught dead in a shot like this...

Alec Monopoly πΊπΈ Graffiti β’ Street Art β’ Print Release, by rebelate on Sept 11, 2015 0:03:31 GMT 1, Funny thing is...I first found out about this about 2.5 years ago. I found it baffling how it had lasted that long to begin with, and I constantly got amazed that it hadn't been "leaked" since then. But I guess it's better that he got outed by Mike instead of leaked by a third party when Mike and Alec were still in bed with each other.
