Remember the distinction: Brainwash works as essentially as producer with a large staff that actually makes the work. He has final say on image and execution. This is not uncommon, Warhol, Koons, hirst, they all operated/operate in a similar fashion. Is this good? It's up to you. The work is still THIERS, because the ideas are theres, they don't need to actually make the work.
This guy is distinct because he actually executed the work, but didn't come up with the ideas. He would work off outlines prepared by another artist. Is this better? IMO no. And I believe art historians may agree, but that may be because it's not a norm. But, those who appreciate the execution of a piece of artwork as much as they appreciate the image creation and cultural context may feel differently. Plus this guy sells his "bad boy" image and I imagine that's part of his charm, which can be attributed to himself and probably a PR team. If you like it buy it, but do so with an understanding of the disconnect between artist and painting. GLWTS
