Keith Haring FRAMED, by LJCal on Jun 12, 2020 2:42:38 GMT 1, As this thread is back in business does anyone know anything about these Harings? They are called Bayer Suite and are offset lithographs on glassine paper (a kind of thin tracing paper) and signed in the print. I picked them up on eBay back in 2004 as the auction had misspelt Haring (as Harring) for a few hundred pounds and Southerby's valued them back then at ยฃ1500, but I've always wondered about them and if they are considered 'proper' Haring's, what's the story about them and what they may be worth now? We love them and I think there were six in the set, but we only have four, but they look great together. They are dated 1982, so quite an early style of his and as I said signed in the print. I think from an edition of 70, but they are not numbered. If anyone has any info on them, i'd love to hear it. This is the full story. www.bonhams.com/auctions/25439/lot/148/ The unsigned editions sell for between ยฃ200-800 per print depending on condition image and provenance. Iโd say a full set should go for between ยฃ2.5-ยฃ4K in good condition with provenance.

We love our prints, but only have four. I've kept my eyes out for the other two, but they don't pop up often. We got them from a woman who worked for an ad agency (I think I remember correctly) in Germany. She'd worked there for years and was given these as a retirement gift. Not planning on selling them, but would love to complete the set at some point.
Thanks once again.

I've also got a set of these (all six) in the original frames. They are a suite of six offset lithographs in colours published in 1982. Haring was commissioned to create this suite of prints by the board members of Bayer AG on the occasion of the release of the heart medication, Sali-Adalat and the series consists of a range of motifs on the theme of movement and the heart.
There were 70 un-numbered sets in total with printed signatures with an additional 5 sets signed in pencil by the artist for the directors of the company. Complete sets of these rarely come up for sale and are difficult to source in good condition. The glassine paper used is quite thin and tends to yellow and ripple a little with age.
Price wise, I would suggest ยฃ8-ยฃ10k for a full set in good condition with original frames is probably realistic given edition size. As has been mentioned elsewhere on this thread they do pop-up from time to time on ebay (mostly from German sellers).

Yes I've been following them for a while as I've had an interest since getting four back in 2004.
I'm pleased to say that I have since managed to pick up the missing two, so we now have all six. We haven't got the original frames though and there is a slight colour difference between these four and the remaining two that we now have. But at least we have the whole set.
I'm looking forward to the framers opening again when I can get them all framed up properly.
Really nice to have these in the collection though. Love Haring and his work.

There is a German seller that has a few for sale on Ebay, however looking at his past sales, it seems as if he has already sold a full set and about 3/4 others individually. I'm just a bit suspicious as to how they have so many, and the description does not seem to have any sort of provenance. I love Haring stuff and am after the cheaper works due to my budget constraints, but as ever, I rarely pull the trigger on anything as there is no real provenance and I have no idea of telling fakes from reals.

Keith Haring FRAMED, by Sundowner on Mar 29, 2021 13:52:08 GMT 1, I know the seller you mean. I do think these would be more difficult to fake than say a print, subway drawing or poster, partly because of the translucent paper stock but also due to the frame and stickers on the back which came with the original prints.

Keith Haring FRAMED, by thrash822 on Apr 1, 2021 6:56:36 GMT 1, Very proud of a recent acquisition, it's my first Keith Haring print. A serigraph entitled KH86 unsigned and produced in 1989 in limited numbers, prior to the artists death after playboy magazine bought the works for publication and then decided since they owned it to make limited editions, which quickly resulted in a suit by the KH estate and the sale of these prints to be halted shortly after. Not many remaining these days but since I can't afford a signed work I am happy to have this part of history on my wall at home and I think it's a beautiful piece to own

Keith Haring FRAMED, by treweman on Feb 27, 2024 17:10:15 GMT 1, Can we have a look at your OG piece please.. would be great to see. As a collector who owns a Haring OG (well, I think I do ๐), I would suggest that provenance is a significant issue. Keith was known to be very generous with his time, but much (most?) of what he signed has no formal provenance. Everyoneโs favorite, eBay, has claimed that Haring is one of the five artists with the most fakes available for sale. Given market prices, I canโt recommend that new collectors rush out to acquire one of Keithโs pieces without doing considerable research first, and maybe without getting expert help in the purchasing process. In short, prices and provenance are serious barriers to entry. Five years later, I respond โฆ

Keith Haring FRAMED, by Bendy Man on Feb 27, 2024 17:39:54 GMT 1, Any more examples of a framed Watari poster, please? I'm sure I saw one somewhere which had picked out the red/pink in the spacer.
