Theyโre from original batch as far as I know (I have one)...lovely prints on thick stock. Maybe expect some minor storage marks...mines all clean but have noticed a couple.

They are called Bayer Suite and are offset lithographs on glassine paper (a kind of thin tracing paper) and signed in the print. I picked them up on eBay back in 2004 as the auction had misspelt Haring (as Harring) for a few hundred pounds and Southerby's valued them back then at ยฃ1500, but I've always wondered about them and if they are considered 'proper' Haring's, what's the story about them and what they may be worth now?
We love them and I think there were six in the set, but we only have four, but they look great together. They are dated 1982, so quite an early style of his and as I said signed in the print. I think from an edition of 70, but they are not numbered.
If anyone has any info on them, i'd love to hear it.

As a collector who owns a Haring OG (well, I think I do ๐), I would suggest that provenance is a significant issue. Keith was known to be very generous with his time, but much (most?) of what he signed has no formal provenance. Everyoneโs favorite, eBay, has claimed that Haring is one of the five artists with the most fakes available for sale. Given market prices, I canโt recommend that new collectors rush out to acquire one of Keithโs pieces without doing considerable research first, and maybe without getting expert help in the purchasing process. In short, prices and provenance are serious barriers to entry. |

The foundation did verify and certify pieces, and that really is the only 100% way to confirm a piece.. but saying that, there are hundreds out there that the artist did - just like doodles, scribbles and signatures on posters that would be genuine.. but would always leave a nagging doubt.
I think its those that are the main issues rather than the editioned prints - unless someone says ive got that wrong.
Historic issues on a large scale seem to be pieces that have been held with a ' large swiss collector ' as provenance that come up month after month in auctions world wide as a start point. There was a thread on here that im sure someone will put a link too that inloved Pure Evil and some rip off stuff
