A great friend helped me to order - I will reimburse him of course - this special edition of JR this afternoon..
But, between this morning and tonight , I had a look on this new JR in a bookshop ...
I don't think that I will order it ( even in the Foyle rare - well not so much rare - edition )...
I am sorry for all of yo that like JR but I think we, you must know the truth...
The Book is made in recycled paper, matt, as newspapers, and even if some pics are full pages, it's a bit worrying and not very " nice " to have it in hand ( some photos are great in this kind of papers, some others not at all ).
I read a very bad critic about this book in a serious newspaper called Le monde de l'art. They " killed " this book.
First, the texts are not from JR but from unknowns people. I don't know where JR had made this book apart, at the end of the book these irritating selfies with him and stars do show-business ?!
Anyway, we are in front of a book of photo, a bit expensive.
What I regret a lot, is to see all these old pics that we saw hundred times in older books as Women are heroes, or in the suburbs with my Facebook friend ladj ly, etc.. We saw also a lot of well-knowns pics.. The book is quickly read and I think that it was quickly made too.
Anyway, there are great pics too, mostly the last ones, but why did he put some photo that we have seen hundred times !
I think that it's better to buy per example his book on Coney Island hospital because we have in hand a real book with a line and not a compilaiton ( various we say for CD ? ) where JR has picked some pics of some great and entire exhibitions( only one photo of Baden par example ) and we all know that what is great in exhibtion or events is to see all the atworks, as an all Thing !
The better for him should to do ( he will do that one day - listen I have 6 Jr books at home, in the 6, we see often the same pics in each books and it is really worrying ) a real monography with a book of 3000 pages , with chapter etc..
But not this kind of compilaiton with a bit of this and a bit of that...
Why this book ?
Because Xmas soon ?

Unlike the Laz ed around 2009 which had a full wrap around paste up and for only ยฃ100 with stamp ..
You are right only a signature could make the difference ( the paste is a bit rubbish ) , but as you see and you know over the years, Lord JR does not sign anymore or if he does it, the prices increase X100...
So I do'nt think this one will be ..

Yeah, I love some of the favela pieces from a few years ago but I often hear him written about as "enigmatic" or "mysterious" and then he pops up all over the place giving interviews and self - promoting which just doesn't add up.
