I bet if the interviewer were more likeable and better at his job, Basquiat wouldve been much more forthcoming with insights into his process, and would've given more direct and honest answers about the works being discussed.
By the end of the video, even I wanted to choke the interviewer.

When Jamie Martin, one of the world's top forensic art analysts, was interviewed by 60 minutes, he said about 98% of all the pieces that come past him are fakes! Even more insane is in almost every case the gallery or owner tosses the news aside and keeps the piece in circulation. One can only imagine the money being paid for verified fakes that are purposely kept on the market.

So King Pleasure Basquiat is now in Los Angeles and it is impressive. I have to admit I was skeptical at first but it was awesome. If you like his work or want to learn more about him this is well worth it.

Also, anyone know any good books or docs on him? Something that is really more fact based on his life? Especially around his early SOMA days. Some of the stuff i've read is just high-level pontification around his creations. In interviews he actually comes across completely different; just real down to earth and cool. Like any other young person just trying to explore art and the world around them. Not a lot of answers, just a lot of doing and exploring.
