If you can get a flight to Leeds/Bradford then it's 20 min into Leeds (taxi), 15 min train to Wakefield and then 15 min taxi to the sculpture park.
I wouldn't bother with flights to Liverpool as they're not that much quicker to get to the venue than travelling from London.
Manchester Airport to Huddersfield is about 55 min train then 25-30 min taxi so that's a bit better but still a bit of a trek.
For someone living outside of UK.. How far away from London is this? I can always get a cheap flight to London, but then what? It's about 2 hours away from London King's Cross on the train to Wakefield then 15 min taxi. But it will also probably take you 40 min to get from a London airport into King's Cross. My advice would be get up for midday see the miro sculptures still in the park and the Ai Wei Wei tree at the chappel, see the Anthony Gormley near the lake. You pay max 8 pounds parking for the day. The food IS pricey there I would have a sandwich/meal elsewhere before you get there if possible.

Luckily all my family live in Yorkshire so this is a fairly easy one for me. Potential here for me to offer lift(s) as I would be traveling up from the south coast nr Brighton.
