Much better than the big stark white border.
But I would go for something a little less bold than black.
They are going to look great.

Still think they missed a trick by not signing it on the bottom of the image rather than the border.

I originally thought the same, but having seen them now, I think that little bit of white (and the golden signature) will look smashing framed up!

Obviously a canvas is a different beast all together, but I feel like all dark prints (no white at all), don't tend well as well to framing. The white is a nice compliment to the dark.

The gold elaborate frame would look a bit out of place in my house. Was thinking something along the lines of 

Is that a box Frame?

I'd go a little bit more white on it, just a smudge. Sorry

Where would one find a gilt frame like that?

Personally, I would cover the sig and number and mount to the image with a hessian or canvas mount board to give it the "aged" look, could then get away with the ornate gold or something more contemporary in dark wood or gun metal.

I understand a lot of you would not cover the sig etc but you know it is there..........

In my opinion the pics posted by Ruggs above are the way to go. Modern and clean, emphasizing the modern aspect in the Brother's work and contrasting the (fake) classic origin of the image.
