Slower sales probably because the flippers got their hands burnt last time and the edition size

Miaz Brothers ๐ฎ๐น Portrait Painters โข Roberto & Renato Miaz, by Wearology on May 11, 2016 14:01:26 GMT 1, This print release is definitely a sign of the times. It is a well executed unique concept by up and coming artists represented by an established gallery but unfortunately the 1st few prints they released prior to these were not easy to flip for multiples. On a scale of flippability I give this a $2.50 out of a possible $5.00 on the flip scale : )

Miaz Brothers ๐ฎ๐น Portrait Painters โข Roberto & Renato Miaz, by nighthawk on May 11, 2016 14:48:12 GMT 1, I disagree, citing the problem as the run size and price! Their 1st print release was bold, at 140 prints and 250 quid. It was also really large, which means another lofty framing bill added to that.
This print is considerably smaller in size, the run is almost 30% larger than either of the other prints individually, YET the price is the same!?
Why not try and increase your fan-base and markets by making this one truly limited at say half the run size, and a bit cheaper? I bet at 50 copies and 175 quid these would have sold out immediately.
Problem is that "newer" artists and galleries are sometimes shooting for the moon on early releases. With a bit of hype, sure they may sell out the edition, but what's the long term effect on the artist's sustainability?
Just my 2cents...I still think it's a great print, and picked one up!

Miaz Brothers ๐ฎ๐น Portrait Painters โข Roberto & Renato Miaz, by lifeonwalls on May 11, 2016 17:58:02 GMT 1, As for it still being available - clearly not 100 interested. If you have one of their works already do you need another one? They are saying the same thing with every image IMO, nothing new really from the last two (new take on portraiture and so on...).
They are the kind of artists where one work is enough. I'm sure large scale canvases in person are great (as they are with almost every artist who can actually paint) and the print hype is now gone which is probably for the best.

It's like owning a hyperrealist painting because of the skill involved but a print of this skill looses something for me. I know the other argument is is that it's about perception and commanding the viewers attention drawing them in to fill in the gaps. I understand that but still not for me.

Miaz Brothers ๐ฎ๐น Portrait Painters โข Roberto & Renato Miaz, by davievegas on May 11, 2016 19:48:26 GMT 1, You guys serious? WTF is this and more importantly, what is wrong with you guys who like this? Your buying a print with only a blurred image and your freaking out? Come on now. I guess If LAZ has ANY artist do a show then its gold or the next big thing? Miaz brothers can take a giant doo doo on the floor and you guys will freak out about it since Laz is co signing the show. This not only would NEVER make my wall, but I would slap my damn self for even thinking of buying a blurred image. I think we found waldo behind that blurred image. This board's taste is truly becoming confusing. Borderline insane if this is getting buzz
WAIT! I get it now. The same insanity as for the people who like stick figures like blurred images? If so, then the Miaz brothers are the next banksy just like "Stik" is lol. On a serious note, I just do not get it.

The Americans were and are still asleep. It is only 11:50 am here in the US. No, I just think "Americans" or non Americans are just not that dumb to buy a blurred image. Nothing inviting about this in any way unless your that art collector who thinks a "Dot" on the wall is art.

You don't like it. That's fine. I find it strange, haunting and beautiful. I'm not freaking out about it. My admiration for these artists has nothing to do with them being signed to Laz. I shared their work in the artists you might not know thread, before (I think) they were signed to Laz. Sadly, however, I do not own anything by them. Hopefully I will one day.

I can see plenty of flippers snagging this and building a buzz in here per usual. You can tell by the low post counts and "Hyped up responses". That is expected. I think not liking it really is putting it lightly coach for me. Others will like what they want but not only is this scary, haunting and just plain hideous, I truly feel that most people "Jump" when there is anything that has to do with Laz. We see it time and time again. You have already expressed your interest in the Miaz brothers without Laz stamping of approval being your motivation for liking them which is your personal preference of course.
I am sure there is plenty available still if you want to grab one. What is worrying me is the direction peoples art interest is heading. When there is a thread about "Anyone else getting bored by urban art?", we should do more then pay attention. Then this kind of art comes out and it makes me think that "Anyone else getting bored by urban art?" has merit.

I expect that I dislike hyping of artists as much as you do. But this work isn't bad just because you think it is, surely. I won't be buying it thanks. I can't afford it at the moment. This isn't street art. I wouldn't describe it as urban art either. Mind you, if flippers get burnt, I'm all in favour of that.

Quoting so I can remember and look back on this comment as the most ignorant, self-centred, uninformed comment i've seen in my 5 years on this forum, and I have seen a few. Oh ya? Uninformed huh? Elaborate instead of just speaking in general to look good. Considering your comment is very stereotypical and offensive to a board member when mine was not. My opinion was about the artists work. You must say that a lot on a daily basis then since most people have similar opinions about plenty other artists on here. Way to single out board members for there opinion. Your def part of the problem and def not a solution.
Miaz Brothers ๐ฎ๐น Portrait Painters โข Roberto & Renato Miaz, by nex on May 12, 2016 0:03:30 GMT 1, You don't like it. ย I can see plenty of flippers snagging this and building a buzz in here per usual. You can tell by the low post counts and "Hyped up responses". That is expected.ย I think not liking it really is putting it lightly coach for me. Fascinating this type of art bares imo absolutely no connection to the derivative tropes that plague urban art. In fact this is only deemed urban art because it's being sold by Laz. It really isn't. The fact you find this haunting, scary and terrible in itself just shows how powerful this piece actually is... That is art at its best...it should evoke emotion.

Tell me, Mr. Anderson... what good is a phone call... if you're unable to speak?
