A number of Seth fans were impressed with his piece in the Street For Kids 7 auction, for Musee en Herbe, this time last week, selling for 17000€. I'd say asking price is ambitious. Worth considering the size and shape of this piece is a bit unusual for the artist though.

A new exhibition from Seth will be running at Le Musee en Herbe in Paris from 8th June to 31st December 2023.

The exhibition opens with a discovery of the universe of the artist Seth and his travels to the four corners of the world. Works, specially created for the exhibition, presented in giant silhouettes of children's faces recall his creations and his encounters with the inhabitants of Madagascar, Java, Haiti, Ukraine and China. Traditional children's games from each country accompany these large frescoes.

Welcome to Paris, the city of the artist! Come stroll through the streets dotted with facetious children, playing away from their screens. The scenography straight out of Seth's imagination was produced with the complicity of artists in shorts who shared with him their sketches of ideal cities. Humor and poetry are on the agenda: swings propelling the children into the clouds, windows that open onto a hidden fresco, masked toddlers opening the birdcages, while others play tag on the roofs with a black tomcat... Palisades gaps and secret doors hold unexpected discoveries.

UP THE MASKS
Seth's characters rarely show their faces. It's up to us to imagine them! They sometimes hide behind masks, like all of us, to become someone else for a few minutes or a few hours, on the occasion of carnivals, balls or sacred festivals.
In the exhibition, visitors will also be able to hide and change their personality.
What are you playing at ? Then place the board games by entering the house of the imagination, where the works of Seth and the board games of our childhood dialogue.

The passage to the last room of the exhibition is through a rainbow-colored tunnel, a whirlpool representing the creative imagination, which Seth calls the Vortex. This multicolored tunnel, like a secret passage, opens the door to fantasy and wonder:
