Posting this early work of Nick Smith to see 1) what people think and 2) if there are any collectors/fans who might want to add this rare piece to their collection.
Title: Bright-on (2012)
Black / Gold (Glow in the Dark Silkscreen)
Edition of 25 (# edited out)
Signed and titled in pencil
Size: 33cm x 48cm
Background to acquiring the piece:
I picked this up from Art Republic in 2015 because I couldn't afford the artist's color chips prints but liked his pieces. I was told after purchasing one of the colorways (4 in total) that the print had been discontinued by the artist.
AR sent me this colorway as a replacement which they said was their last available. FWIW: I have all of this email correspondence to share later down the line for those interested.
You'll note the signature is undeveloped compared to his more recent works. I reached out to the artist via his website a month or two ago to see if he had any additional background to share but so far met with silence.
So, I sourced the below from Internet Archiveβs Wayback Machine. It's from the original listing on Art Republic, including a bio of Nick Smith corroborating his previous interior design work noted on his personal website biography.

About Nick Smith:
Nick Smith is an up and coming London based interior designer / visual artist with a vivid imagination and broad range design skills. Not satisfied with just creating beautiful walls, Nick also started to make the artwork to hang on them in small screen printed editions often with hand finished details making each piece unique.

Iβm a regular here but donβt post frequently because I donβt have much of value to contribute, although I have picked up a few pieces from other members when/if references are needed. Based in NYC but will ship anywhere at buyer's cost with any preferred tracking/insurance measures.

I thought of this composition w/the lightbulb and gid for wedding invites I was going to screenprint in another life long before this print was published. Round lightbulb and everything! Very cool to see it executed, would look great with just about any text in filament script.
