I love the work and also the messages on the custom made pantone chips. Really strong. I felt the Water Lillies was perhaps the least successful in terms of visual reconstruction of the pieceโฆ probably needed to be larger (but I guess you could say that with all the pieces as they are essentially 'artistic pixels').
For those interested, the prints look terrific although, with work of this kind, my thoughts are that the 'magic' is in the creation of the collage and that a print, though at a very attractive price point, is a bit like watching a movie about magicโฆ the whole point of watching magic/illusions is watching them liveโฆ we all know that movies can create anything!
So that's my ten cents worth. I'd urge anyone passing to drop in and see Nick's workโฆ it really does 'exist' on several levels and is a very accessible exhibition.
Well done, Nick and I'm sorry I didn't get around to pulling that trigger. Never say never though. It's amazing what doors a Louis Vuitton handbag can unlock

For those who didn't get a chance to come on the night, the show will be up for another month until the 21st Feburary so plenty of time left if you are in the neighbourhood.
After the dust had settled I payed the gallery a visit with my camera and took some pictures of key pieces and thought I'd share on the forum. Thank you for your kind words, Its really nice to read your thoughts on the show. Overall I was blown away by the response and the chats I had withe people on the opening night. I'd agree with you about the Monet piece and its fascinating that you should pick up on it. I did deliberate over this piece when I was making it, originally I had set out to do it at full size at 93 x 74cm but it still looked very abstracted at full scale as all the colours are very similar greens and the forms are vague when pixilated and was difficult to recognise so I decided to strip it down to a smaller size and just use the lilac lily colour chip and the frames lilac coloured slip as the key bit of information for the viewer to understand what it was and in the end I felt that that was all that was needed.
The show is up for a month we sold two of the Son of Man pieces on the night which are a hand made edition of 3 so still some time to persuade Mrs HB, not sure LV ever have a sale on though so that doesn't help.
