An unnecessary build up of hype, ensuring attendance of people at a show whether they buy a print or not. Not a good practice. No image, no price. Its seems more and more galleries are employing this tactic. I go to most Stolenspace shows and they are good shows, and are generally positive about them, yet this is a pain for Dface fans who travel the length of the country to queue for a print that they may not buy or can afford.
i agree, it's a commercial, vulgar, and ugly tactic unworthy of art, I mean the real art, not the one throwing chips for chimps with big wallets in their pants.
At the moment, this moment before xmas , we are receiving per day dozen of mails to buy prints etc... Never saw that before.
So I resume, Faile, Kaws, DFace, Followers, etc etc.. Most at 1k, I prefer when it was December POW sales with a festive and classy manners to sell prints of diverse artists, so punk and British.
Here it looks indecent, and a nan as Kidult or Lushsux have reasons to attack these " makers of prints ".
F5 will become soon an abstractive art only for traders, hipsters or flippers fingers.
Try a pint of xmas beer at the corner and forget a bit these indecent markets.

He seems to just bank on his older stuff mostly. If you followed his last show it was mostly comprised of previous works with different variations. There wasn't a tremendous amount of new work.
His LA show last year was a big production that was poorly publicised. The work felt like it was overly geared towards a certain market, which was strange as D*Face has always appealed to that side of the pond. His Corey Helford shows got much more coverage - and sales . His UK show back in the day at Black Rat saw him at his best. It would be good to see him recapture some of that as he has the potential to be one of the big ones.
