I know the difference between nothing and nothing.
I was wondering if people like Banksy because of how they imagine him as a person or like Banksy by what they see he has done stencilisticly

To be honest, i don't think so. There are other artists who are better in painting with a spraycan or stencils Still i love what he does...

There are other artists who are better in painting with a spraycan or stencils Still i love what he does... Indeed. Although he was not the first to make such an attempt, and despite him not being objectively the best from a purely aesthetic perspective, Banksy's work possesses such a degree of raw creativity, clever wit and deeper social purpose that it has successfully sparked a public art revolution; one that blurs the lines of fine art, commercial art, and industrial art in such a manner as to meaningfully subvert the long standing status quo - perhaps permanently and hopefully in increasingly important ways. It is for this reason, the neoteric yet palpable schism in defining what it means to be an artist that leads me to continuously admire his work.

What makes people like Banksy works so much, by Mirus Gallery Poesia on Jan 6, 2016 2:40:24 GMT 1, That's the only one of their back issues that sold out .... Funny that. Great front cover. I also heard they had to do an additional magazine run to fulfill demand. Banksy tends to have that effect. You heard from who?, meaning are you just throwing more artificial rumors about or did you talk to someone with knowledge of printing or the editor. Im just saying being factual if you are mentioning things or it comes across as more Hype.
For me I respect what Banksy has done for the culture and he will always be remembered for that, but I really feel that the tipping point has passed not only for Banksy but the culture in general. Now in the next decade we will see the true fruit of what our culture means. Banksy doesnt have much effect on me anymore, but historically he is very important. The whole scene is fading fast and great work is becoming harder to come by, even when the culture is at such a peak.

Is it really such a stretch that they had such demand for that issue? A cover with new banksy artwork and his first legit indepth press interview in over a decade. "A tipping point for Banksy".... Would love to hear your reasoning behind that theory. BOTI, Gaza, Dismaland... I see him stepping up his game exponentially and I can't see that stopping anytime soon. I heard a lot of the same talk almost a decade ago after his LA show. Either way... fun to watch and take part in.

What makes people like Banksy works so much, by Deleted on Jan 6, 2016 11:22:57 GMT 1, I don't know if Banksy has achieved anything in reality.
If Banksy puts a stencilled image on a wall it gets covered in perspex.
If some unknown puts a similar stencilled image on the same wall next to Banksys image, it gets removed and the unknown prosecuted for vandalism.
Banksy early stuff on the streets was great and Robin Hood style sticking two fingers up to everybody.
Now it's looking like a hype machine with a broken gearbox struggling to get to the next big promotion.
Steve Jobs was desperate.

I heard a lot of the same talk almost a decade ago after his LA show. Either way... fun to watch and take part in. Well if a retailer told you then it has to be true, I doubt a retailer would understand or know how much one issue is printed over any other. I could see a retailer in an area where banksy might be popular having to order more than normal but for the rest of the world like were I live Juxtapoz issues sit on shelves business as usual. Which was my point, and yet it is a stretch IMO which was why I even commented on it.
As far as my reasoning I dont think I would have the time to really have a conversation, but call it a overall sense and intuition I have. Its not based on any fact or #'s but I really feel the world is moving on and Banksy is looking more and more like every other artist when Time allows you to digest their work. Some get better with time, for Banksy seems to be reaching more than he has in the past trying hard to do something in order to progress. All artist do this, but for some reaching leads to losing at times. Just look at Hirst when he starting moving away from his Niche, and created his Bacon paintings. It seems to been all downhill from there IMO. Again this is not a popularity contest, or tit for tat on #'s just my honest eye on the art being created.
