I assume he is resizing everything proportionally, not just the amount of water depicted lol

I've seen a Mehdi canvas similar to this print where the boat is bigger, like a close up version. It looked great too.

The thread has been posted for a number of reasons ,as always it's a matter of personal choice which must be respected .
For me I have found the full bleed prints expensive to frame ,just been quoted £300-£400 they need to be float mounted.
Issues around rippling.
It's all down to choice personally the bigger the better but also need to consider all options.

This is bollocks....I know of a collector who Mehdi agreed to cut down the print for. It doesn't reflect the edition. Mehdi signed full size prints...so nothing to do with having concerns.

Just spoke with Richard as well, and can also confirm that prints are not being resized from the 98.4cm.

I agree - the smaller canvas with the larger boat is also very nice, but for me it doesn't have the impact of the original piece for the reasons that you gave. I find this painting really rather powerful. 

I certainly don't find it soothing, but we all see something different of course.
