Paul Insect "It's only a Dream" Allouche Gallery, by Lroy on Apr 9, 2016 9:32:19 GMT 1, It was a fantastic show, really was an incredible body of work that is well worth going to see. The venue provided a perfect setting too. It was great to see the trash puppets on show with the rest of the work and the small sculptures equally impressive. It was also a privilege to meet the artist who remains completely grounded in all of this and had some funny stories to tell. There was lots of speculation on whether some parts of his paintings were screened or stencilled (the facial features) but he was quite clear that they were all meticulously painted by hand. The prints are as Dread has said, there will also be some variants (not sure if they are hand finished or not). Definitely worth going to see, I will be going back again so I can enjoy it in a more tranquil setting.

I think that it will be the yellow one but with different colours ( there is blue in the stripes of the print and on the canvas they are red and black ) .

How many times does this type of thing happen at art events? Never really come across the amount of logistical problems in other walks of life. Amazing really as it's hardly an insignificant purchase - a ยฃ300 print. Would just think that maybe a bit more prior preparation would take place. Not having a go at this event in particular but it seems the norm rather than exception for these things to go wrong when it comes to art events.

The quality of Dali in the dot technique for the eyes and mouth and the imagination of Matisse for the back grounds. Definately an original for adding to a collection or a print.

Yeah agree! I bet it's the lack of signal stopping transctions?! I had a work party there and remember signal being s**t due to its bunker like qualities - probably no permanent Wi-Fi either.....
