I agree. Edition of 175, not much colour. A reasonable image but nothing special. Not for me. I actually got one in my basket then thought, WTF are you doing, so released it again.
Those flippers thinking of making money on these prints better think again. Strange encounters was a smaller edition, had more colour in it and was a better image (IMHO). And that is still going at around cost having dipped to about ยฃ200 at certain points.

Aight! Would of snapped it up at anything south of ยฃ200...only ยฃ100 cheaper than the signed BW Trolley is way over priced IMO.
Great print though and would of loved to have one but cant justify that kind of cash.
Well done to all those than managed to bag one!

Plus with Strange Encounters it was printed over the top of the Banksy Morons print so it was like the smaller editions with the shat at's and kid's
You got a 1/4 of a Banksy free with the print ;D

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by nickc on Dec 10, 2007 17:41:29 GMT 1, A lot of people on here are saying that this is all for Charity. Unless I am mistaken then only the things auctioned off in the Ghetto are raising funds for local charities. The prints are just part of the thing they laughingly refer to as an online business.... Don't get me wrong, I think POW need to be heavily applauded for what they have done this year but I just worry people might justify the purchase of a print on the basis that it's for charity and then it turns out, it actually isn't. Am I the only one in thinking that POW need to be a little bit clearer about what is going to the charity and what isn't?

yep, i didn't think that money from the online sales was going to charity. only stuff sold at the ghetto in bethlehem (which given the guide prices could still be a significant sum).

Been thinking about this, and if the proceeds for the prints are for charity then we could see a huge drop in prices for anything not sold right before the end on the 24th, rather than the remnants to just appear on the POW main site a couple of days into the new year? The way I read it though, the charity part is for the items actually in Bethlehem, possibly including the prints reserved in Bethlehem, but unsure of that, too.
---
amendment: the banksy's reserved in shop are for charity.

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by Jonny Breaks on Dec 10, 2007 17:46:38 GMT 1, I thought it was pretty clear that everything sold out of the Ghetto physically (the new banksy trolleys & flag etc.and the work up for auction) was for charity the rest sold online was POW business as usual....still the quality of work up for auction is immense and will make a sh*t load of cash for many good causes.
Cant fault them at the moment!

does that include the online store?
