Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by fallenangel on Dec 11, 2007 16:01:15 GMT 1, my mate at work reckons they'll hold the goodies back till the end .... but i disagree, I think that everyone is holding thier money and not buying the other surplus prints such as blu, aiko, etc as we're all waiting for a Banksy, Micallef ... would it not be better to release them now, so they sell out and then anyone that misses out settles for a not so popular print?

Personally I think blu and eric the dog prints arent selling because they just arent very good. Faile kinda floats my boat as I like comics, but not at those prices, KB ho hum... Aiko... well, all I know is I like Banksy's stuff, some others on POW are good (great even, bring on the Hewlett!? and have come across some real beautys since joining here... Mysterious Al's Incredible Sulk is the nuts), but I don't think I'd pay more than a tenner for anythng thats been released on SG so far.

1. Aiko - hmmm....... don't get the images at all, I'm afraid, nothing like as nice as the first one on Aiko's page in the POW shop (Grenade Girl).
2. Eric the Dog - looks lovely and the only really witty and scurrilous one so far for me, may look like more the sort of thing you see as an illustration in a children's story but that's probably its charm. Bought.
3. Kelsey Brooks - very intricate and nice looking but I wouldn't have bought one as they wouldn't sit well with anything I have so far, would love to see a pic of both prints after they arrive though.
4. Blu - kind of like it but not enough to buy it, price a bit steep but if I liked it just a teency bit more it probably wouldn't be offputting however I feel my eyes are too often drawn to the dark line of grass in the lower half and not sure I like the colours... gets marks on my scurrilometer though. Should be said blu has to get marks for his work on the wall. The giant with the cracked watchtower is just mint. I doubt any of the other artists has done more work for the wall.
5. Faile - nope. Don't really get the comic book cover stuff either (although some of it looks like it might be ok) this one is too dark for me and for 400 quid I'd like a few less cliches in the text "road to nowhere" (for some reason I cringe) etc. If I'm honest I don't even really think I know how to pronouce Faile. The Irish word for "welcome" is Failte (pron. Faul t yeah as in Paul Chair where the r in chair is not cut off) so I keep saying Faul yeah in my head - wouldn't dare say it out loud). To each their own though, as has been said.

Got green a few weeks back and after getting it up on the wall, just ordered the black to go next to it... it very much reflects my personality (form and content!) - saw the canvas at Stolen Space and would love it, but aint gonna happen... i'd only slip on the cat in the night and put my head thru it. He's got a new release comin up in the next few days I hear... not sure I'll go for it... may just get the Blue sulk instead
