Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by sammyman on Dec 11, 2007 16:37:25 GMT 1, Mickey is not for me... don't get it.
I don't like most of Bast, but this Mickey looks pretty cool to me. I grabbed a glitter, and will be releasing a regular shortly.

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by teatwosugars on Dec 11, 2007 16:38:10 GMT 1, my opinion on the prints if anyone's bothered (and I know approximately SFA about any of the artists): 1. Aiko - hmmm....... don't get the images at all, I'm afraid, nothing like as nice as the first one on Aiko's page in the POW shop (Grenade Girl). 2. Eric the Dog - looks lovely and the only really witty and scurrilous one so far for me, may look like more the sort of thing you see as an illustration in a children's story but that's probably its charm. Bought. 3. Kelsey Brooks - very intricate and nice looking but I wouldn't have bought one as they wouldn't sit well with anything I have so far, would love to see a pic of both prints after they arrive though. 4. Blu - kind of like it but not enough to buy it, price a bit steep but if I liked it just a teency bit more it probably wouldn't be offputting however I feel my eyes are too often drawn to the dark line of grass in the lower half and not sure I like the colours... gets marks on my scurrilometer though. Should be said blu has to get marks for his work on the wall. The giant with the cracked watchtower is just mint. I doubt any of the other artists has done more work for the wall. 5. Faile - nope. Don't really get the comic book cover stuff either (although some of it looks like it might be ok) this one is too dark for me and for 400 quid I'd like a few less cliches in the text "road to nowhere" (for some reason I cringe) etc. If I'm honest I don't even really think I know how to pronouce Faile. The Irish word for "welcome" is Failte (pron. Faul t yeah as in Paul Chair where the r in chair is not cut off) so I keep saying Faul yeah in my head - wouldn't dare say it out loud). To each their own though, as has been said.
A refreshing post seidbereit (no pun intended) ;D
I think differing opinions are great on this forum, and it's nice to see someone expand on their opinion, rather than just a comment of 'I think this print is shit'
I'll + you up when I'm at home later (for some reason I'm unable to use the respect system at work as it's filtered)!

No way that people can look at a print that quickly and decide whether they want to buy. Ebay will be littered with all of these prints come january. There will be bargains to be had.
I just put one in my cart right when I saw it and it was kind of a low number (under 10)! No software here.... will take some if you have any ;D

I think everyone is just putting them in baskets themselves, then having a think about weather or not they want the print. I still expect a fair few to show up on ebay, but it seems many people on here are all about telling everyone they have on in basket and are just about to release it for some reason.

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by goaty on Dec 11, 2007 16:42:20 GMT 1, Stop putting one in your basket and saying you're releasing it for them as a f**king favour.
1. Why put it in your basket in the first place? You can see the picture. 2. Once you release it it will probably be snapped up by someone else. 3. If you really want to help someone out buy it and sell it to them at cost.
;D

Ha Ha! You will never stop people from adding prints to carts they dont want. Why do you care about the market? I just throw it in my cart, then look at it for a few minutes and buy if I like. I imagine there are quite a few of you doing the same.

I agree but you don't even have time to assess the image and the price being asked so you've got to add to basket first then make a decision if you want to buy. The rate these are selling is just madness.

it's good to think about the purchase when spending this much dough. not a quick glance of wow i want it. maybe a DAMN I got to have it will start the instant checkout. either way these low print numbers require quick cart adding

Edition 30, signed by the artist Two colour screen print with hand finished spray paint, pen, paint and Gold Glitter. Bast spent many days customising all 100 of these prints in various ways, so please note that what you order won't be exactly the same as what's pictured here
So is glitter an edition of 30 or 100?

Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by dave313perry on Dec 11, 2007 16:45:59 GMT 1, FFS people take a look around! why jump on the band wagon and buy this overpriced rubbish!??
i know im speaking generally but think how much you could buy if you took your time, shopped around and waited for releases rather than joining the Hype!
buy an Aiko and Bast - or a years supply of SOS prints with change!! - fair play to POW they certainly know how to drum up a crowd and get people buying by bulding suspense but if these were staggered accross different print houses and galleries at these prices would they be pounced on in 10 seconds! i doubt it!
happy that i feel like im saving money though!! - im getting cynical in my 'young' age
Edit : dont take the rubbish comment too specifically, i mean in general, considering price point, edition size, sellout time, and previous print prices from the artists...just doesnt add up to me - each to their own, just trying to bring some rational thinking
