Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by barryh on Jul 31, 2017 7:41:34 GMT 1, Zedsy is blatantly copying banksy, but that's the point right? unlike the likes of bambi I feel zedsy is more likely doing this for the enjoyment rather then financial gain. Sure he sells prints but they are inexpensive and relatively small runs. I don't see anything wrong with what he's doing and thouroghly enojoy his work. Whilst banksy is quiet on the street scene it's great to have different artists to enjoy. Keep it up zedsy. Would like to see more risky stunts like the ones he pulled at dismaland and Warhol at the Tate
Risky stunts ? Would you go and see a comedian that tells someone else's jokes...but not quite as well? There are 1000s of artists to enjoy, without needing to jump on someone else's coat tails. The first handful were fun, but this has been happening for a decade now.

Not a comedian telling the same jokes. More a comedian telling jokes on the same subject but not as good. |

Unless youve been on the moon for the past couple of years, I think it's fair to say Uber have an awful reputation here for unfairly treating drivers, zero hour contracts and sexism from the top down.

Either way, if you cant better it.. dont bother  . Once art has been 'smuggled' into the tate or any other venue, theres really no point in in being done again. How many times has that happened now ? I know cartrain also did it probably 5/6 years ago.

True. But many of those issues can to some degree be levelled on Apple, Amazon and all the rest of the giant corporations. Probably though right now most of us are browsing this forum on an iPhone.

Definitely hated by many, to the point they're currently losing market share to Lyft. Did the entire sexual harrassment case pass you by? The bulk ordering of fake rides from rival services to gain a leg-up on the competition? The tracking of users after their ride ends and they've entered their home? I assume you're fine with the dodgy zero-hour, no-employee-rights stuff due to the union bashing

Okay.... So what's the white round thing with the black square in the middle ? That's the Uber app/logo. Is a ripoff/homage to Banksy? Sure it is. But the logo/rat/rat running on a wheel, while not original, is making a point about the business practices of Uber and how they treat their drivers. While I wouldn't but it for my wall, I like it okay as a street piece and like that Zedsy is making some social commentary. I'm fine with it. |
