Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by WOOF on Jul 27, 2016 19:13:57 GMT 1, This may have been discussed elsewhere, but what's with his signature being so similar to Banksy's? In my industry, we call that "borrowed interest."

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by Coach on Jul 27, 2016 20:12:05 GMT 1, I reckon there is some members that know they have zero chance of getting one on Saturday (still on dial up) hence the negativity .....ย
That's a very cynical stance. It's much more likely that members who are negative about this piece simply don't like it or are irritated by its lack of originality. I can't imagine ever being disparaging about a piece of art just because I believe its unobtainable for me.

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by Deleted on Jul 28, 2016 8:50:03 GMT 1, I'm going to do a hirst spotted campbell soup can being fought over by marilyn monroe and a storm trooper, both holding guns with some butterflies that have human skulls flying in the background, in the style of Dface, i mean Roy Lichtenstein. Any interest?

Not much interest on here for something like that.....unless a lenticular version is available??? If so stick me down for a dozen...

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by caibach on Jul 28, 2016 22:13:52 GMT 1, Given that Zedsy's soup can is not an original idea, does this therefore really render it worthless, or lacking in artistic integrity? If so, then where does this leave the work of artists such as Hirst or Turk, and those that use Disney and Star Wars characters, or geometrical op art stuff?
I initially liked the Zedsy print in a superficial way, colorful, well executed, and humorous, but it has also, at least for me, raised a heightened awareness, of what I perceive as a double standard.
Given the rise in food banks, food waste, the ever rising cost of living, a lack in pay raises, austerity and so forth, I think that Zedsy's take, although not original, is never the less, a timely one. Zedsy's image is as relevant now, as Banksy's was then. Do people even think about Banksy's work these days, or has it become purely about having, rather than being? Its an honest question, if a cynical one.
The fact that it is so obviously not original, makes it all the more thought provoking. Why has the artist produced this, what is this communicating, what does this mirror or reflect, if anything? I'm not irritated, I'm curious.
I find it difficult to believe that someone would be naive enough to do this, without realizing it would get slated. I struggle to believe that this has been so well produced, just purely to be associated with Banksy, or even out of desperation or stupidity. It would certainly be very sad, should that ever prove to be the case.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, and prepared to give this piece and Zedsy the benefit of the doubt, but for me this piece has started to talk, and that's a very personal thing.
Please note, that I wont be buying one, as I will be completely devoid of technology, when it drops, due to being in a particular location. If I were to buy one, it would be because I believe that it has more worth than a purely monetary value. Art is thankfully a broad church, and I wish all the very best to those who are't trying to hype, and wont be buying just to flip. Those who truly appreciate something, for what it means/says to them, the contemplation and thought it provokes. Good luck.

That's great, love the wit and humour in this, a good rendition of art as religion, and soup for the last supper is hilarious! The coke bottles work well, my only critisim would be that the soup can should be a little smaller.

Reflective of people not being able to afford campbells anymore and resorting to your Lidl and Aldi to do your weekly shop.

The antique print I used is very small.
I'll do a bigger version when I find a large engraving of this Da Vinci painting.
The coke bottles I cut out of a Sothebys year book and they are from a photo of a print by Warhol.
