I was talking to my framer about his yesterday actually. And he was saying that the only true way to have a completely mint condition print. Is for the print to have been posted flat (preferably) and then to keep in flat between some foam core under your bed for years.
The thing with paper prints Is that the paper will naturally want to roll and curl. Even when framed. So sometimes when you have a slight roll on a print, it doesn't always mean it's not in mint condition. As sometimes there's nothing you can do about it.

There are a lot of places who'll flatten it out for you for ยฃ100 - 150.
I think that the print was originally flattened too quickly after being in the tube so long and as a result, damaged the fibres. In future make sure you flatten it out gradually over a period of weeks.
