Dale has only had about a couple print releases and his originals sell out quickly.

Every single artist since the start of time that has had a modicum of commercial success has more than likely been subjected to market manipulation. If you love art as I do this thought will destroy you if you let it. Never let this fact distract you from your love of great art and great artists.

My recollection is slightly different. Dran had been quiet for a number of years so talk and speculation had quietened... Then his show was conceptually challenging and didn't provide flippers with the wrequired crowd pleasing images to get too excited. For my money drans last show was conceptually the best thing to happen in this scene outside of banksys work in years and years.

I'd suggest that things went quiet because he's been working on a new show, that seems to be standard art operating procedure, Charming Baker been silent until new show also.

People weren't 'mugged off'they simply didn't understand that they were seeing the last night of the show not the first, more fool them.

It was a great idea but 90% of the pieces were quite dull. The prints seemed like an after thought, and were too small and bad choices.
Plus POW were their usual cagey selves, offering no information about the sale of work (although I'm sure they had their reasons)
Overall it just didn't go as well as it should have, IMO.

Yes, and some who came from just down the road felt the same. It was pretentious b0llocks and all they needed to do was explain the idea properly from the start rather than the tiresome smoke and mirrors that POW go in for. That said seeing the show evolve while on lunch breaks was great and it was an excellent final day.
