Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by hankpank on Jun 17, 2007 15:55:27 GMT 1, This is the original large stencil. You can even see the fold marks and uneven black on the Pax Brittanica-version.
It's not my picture and I can't remember where I found it.

Surely that in itself values the Banksy at £1.5k+?

Yeah but you did get the Co2 A/P Frankie. I know which one I would prefer and it's not the Banksy.

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by romanywg on Jun 17, 2007 19:03:44 GMT 1, I was the guy that did the Queen Victoria custom sculpt in the window. I was there but didn't know anyone there except MrHaigh. But Beejoir (who I didn't know at the time) told me about you letting him have first dibs on the Banksy.

...and to make matters worse I was forced to sell the CO2 to a very good friend at cost! On the plus side, they both went to good homes, on the down side, I made fuck all! ;D
you going to the kennard & cat show?

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by justinkase on Jun 18, 2007 1:09:45 GMT 1, If the set went for 4600 and Banksy is the only real piece worth anything in there, wouldn't the Wrong War would be worth at least 3K? With only around 100 of these ever made, I think they're going to be extremely sought after. Thoughts?

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by policeaware on May 22, 2006 20:17:37 GMT 1, Good for packing material but that's about all, its a fake that's appeared on ebay time and time again !!
The seller may or may not know that this item is not genuine since they did not get the placard directly from the demonstration. The description states 'second of two I bought a couple of weeks after'
If you need any more convincing compare the signature on the placard to the one on any signed Banksy item on ebay.

Had my legs slapped by ebay after my 'Wrong'N' placard listing was reported.
It beats me why would anyone would want to report me for advising people to check authenticity !

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by RetroCanvas on Jun 8, 2006 9:03:14 GMT 1, The person that reported it is most likely to be someone that sells duff Banksy stuff themselves. If there's a listing on ebay to warn people, their listings are not likely to sell.
Makes sense but I agree, is wrong

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by mido on Jun 8, 2006 11:10:06 GMT 1, completely agree. It's all done so anonymously that you never actually get real answers.
paypal are a nightmare when things go wrong. you just get these pathetic robotic emails (from a different 'person' and dept every time!)
they simply don't have enough staff, and enough staff that have much experience.

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by Daniel Silk on Jun 8, 2006 11:39:23 GMT 1, Yeah I guess they have so many millions of items per day to watch that they never really have time to sort the fake stuff out
Could they do something like they do on www.dmoz.org where people take charge of different areas and subjects?

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by RetroCanvas on Jun 8, 2006 12:55:11 GMT 1, I think its a real case of them having a customer base twice as big as they can handle and them not willing to part with their cash to create better customer service.
I truly hate paypal.
Moan over

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by policeaware on Jun 10, 2006 11:44:43 GMT 1, I'm not surprised the listing got pulled but I am surprised at how long it lasted. There is still the chance that the winner will visit the forums eventually and realise. Using a credit card can provide protection months later so the buyer may be able to do a chargeback.
Greed will kick in and those have got away with selling fakes will have realised the rewards so will try it again.

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by matilda on Jun 10, 2006 12:08:35 GMT 1, police, my understanding is that you got your "slap" for not selling any thing, how about selling genuine fake wrong war placards for a bit over costs? Would pull the rug from under the frauds, it would allow you to point out why it was a fraud, ie dubious sig', pink bow etc? this assumes you could be bothered..not sure I could ...be great if someone did...I'm sure that costs could be covered...
