Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by Express Post on Oct 11, 2018 23:48:08 GMT 1, Gonna save this comment. It's a nice illustration. Olly moss also does witty illustrations, but more so for film and TV with clever references.
Please visit Barnes Foundation, Broad Museum, Chelsea and Soho galleries, Art Basel, Marciano Foundation, Newport Gallery, Guggenheim, D'Orsay, L'Orangerie, Pompidou, Prado, Reina Sofia, Tate Modern, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Louvre.
Then once you have done that, come back and tell me if this is still good.
Stolenspace, Art Car Boot Fair, Jealous, Maddox, Nelly Duffand The Unit are not recommended.

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by galaxy01 on Oct 12, 2018 11:08:14 GMT 1, Pejac is not a painter. It is all subjective and some people love his work, get over it and go look at some crap like the Pompidou has in it - my opinion - yours is different. Live with it, you have your own, as do we. I personally think Harold Ancart's work is awful, would never want to look at one for more than 5 seconds. But I am not posting on topics about him telling everyone that my opinion is the right one.
Most people here like Urban Art (hence the forum name), and those painters you mention are not as 'urban art' as the style of Pejac. It's like telling someone a Rugby player is better than a football player.

I think the response from Case is kind of inevitable in light of the relationship between this forum and Pejac.
I don't think anyone would deny that Pejac is a forum favourite and therefore you have a number of members with a vested interest in his market. This explains why there might be quite so many posts about him which content wise provide very little. Those members closest to the artist don't really seem to get involved which leaves other members who may have a (not inexpensive) print or two to try and constantly pump the artist with at least one eye on protecting their investments. Before the knives come out, I am a fan of Pejac, I own Linea and tried unsuccessfully to get an OG from the Paris show but when I asked the question if prices were levelling out recently, it was met pretty much with a wall of silence. Someone recently suggested that anyone who asks Max about Pejac's career is told they are taking it slow. Is that wise for a 40yr old with a handful of solo shows? These are the sort of conversations I would like to see about the artist but they seem to be no go areas on the forum which may contribute to the ill feeling that some people seem to feel towards him.

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by jbelleit on Oct 12, 2018 14:12:37 GMT 1, I think Warwolf's post is well thought out. If those close to Pejac and Max can find out:
1) Will Pejac be doing any street work between now and the proposed NYC show? 2) Other than the UAA fans of Pejac, who else will be invited to this NYC show? As seen, Pejac can maintain a healthy living just on UAA members, but if he wants to known as one of the urban art greats, he has to have a broader spectrum of fans.
(This is all just my opinion and I own 4 pejac prints.) I think Pejac and Max can take it slow but if the street work dries up, I think that may be glacially too slow and will curb his future...

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by pada1 on Oct 12, 2018 16:34:59 GMT 1, I hope he will do some street work... he usually does in the city where he is preparing an event.
As for him to reach a broader audience, nowadays it only works through social media and contagious hype from other artist. You need a couple of famous people to come to your event and the word is out. NY is probably a good place for this to happen... letโs see what the venue will be. So far, it was not the best address but more a more personal and well chosen scene.

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by thepusher on Oct 12, 2018 18:10:07 GMT 1, Agreed with what was said before
Iโm a pejac forum fan myself but I do agree that if this is what he/Max want NYC show has to be a show and not an apรฉritif on a peniche with some fans
But again it has to be in accordance with what they want, as a collector and a fan Iโm fine with apรฉritif
Another point explaning the demand is that it seems to me that the 2018 Pejac or Chevrier or Harrington outsiders are not that evident to me

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by Express Post on Oct 12, 2018 21:05:08 GMT 1, The conversation should be around who they will be selling to.
No point going to NYC and selling to the same folk from the waterline show.
It would either be a dumb play by Max to please existing clients, or there isn't any demand outside this forum.
Are there even over ten Pejac collectors on here that have paid resale, ยฃ3-6k, for their pieces (editions not originals) ? They are the ones that really want his stuff. It's easy to spend over a โฌ1k for his stuff at release knowing that you can flip it for multiple times, but how does it feel when you pay blue sky territory?

Really pleased to see him revisiting the "Redemption Series" too - Venice was a really good body of work and the chip board with contemporary art for me is so clever. A rough "street" material in chip board hanging inside with beautiful imagery is genius!
