Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by 19818914 on Mar 24, 2019 16:16:27 GMT 1, I think we have to separate the prints and the originals. While we see more prints being available in the secondary market (there was close to none a year+ ago), I haven't seen any original painting/drawing made publicly available from collectors. As for the NY show, I keep my fingers crossed that we will have few novelties. The venue itself may surprise us! You're forgetting that any originals are..... A) hidden sales so as to not upset management that will only let certain people buy B) bought 95%as speculative by people that can afford to drop that cash and "see what happens" Sorry, but I still just don't see it outside of this forum nearly as much as people pretend.. tremendous talent, but talent is a dime a dozen.. management is his downfall and will likely be his end
Iโm rather new to this situation. Whatโs up what his management?

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by pada1 on Mar 25, 2019 3:11:15 GMT 1, I donโt think itโs specific to Pejac. A normal practice is to sign a contract when purchasing original art, stating that you wonโt resell it before a specific date (like 1-2 years later). Many galleries do that not to fuel secondary market and build a collector base.

Sounds like a good idea.

Pejac Artwork, VALUATION, by pada1 on Mar 25, 2019 7:10:47 GMT 1, To the point of touchdowntodd, it doesnโt stop anyone to sell theirs in a non-public way (offline and outside of auction houses). But nothing specific to Pejac and his representant.
Pejacโs original artwork price may appear steep for many. However if you have the budget and you genuinly like his work, you donโt really look at the resell market and buy for enjoying it. I truly do think that many are in this case. If not, well itโs not the artistsโs choice, so it doesnโt impact my appreciation...

For purchases over a few thousand pounds it would be rude not to.

I get it. Just like the Damien Hirst prints.
I try and be smart with my purchases and buy things that wonโt cost half of what I paid after purchase, but Iโm not that disciplined when it comes to art.
