Show us your HIFI System, by Harveyn on Jan 3, 2014 13:20:08 GMT 1, Thanks for all the pms I received and help.
I had a listen on my preferred speaker the Elipson Planet M and to be honest they need a sub-woofer to do the bass any justice. Adding a sub was an option but I really wanted to keep the system down to a turntable, integrated amplifier (with phono stage) and two speakers. As before the sound is important but these are going in a smallish room so space and aesthetics are key.
I then looked and listened to the Elipson Planet L speakers and the sound was perfect. At twice the price its more than I wanted to spend but it saved on buying a sub. These are also bigger at 30cm diameter but they will still work in the space I have in mind.
So Roksan Radius 5 Mk II bought along with a pair of Elipson Planet L speakers with floor stands. Now just the integrated amplifier and cartridge to sort out.
Stock images of both below.
with this tone arm
Black lacquered Elipson Planet L speakers.

But lol this forum attracts like minds, my last set of speakers were Anthony Gallo Nucleus Reference with 2 balls. They are long sold on to buy my current set. But I still have a rare early set of pre production single balls in my basement. The round design gives scarily good imaging.
Edit Anthony Gallo, lol so long since I thought about them I forgot his name

Hey fella... Play5 set up and pumping! Joe Goddard's 'taking over' has never sounded so good! Loving it! Thanks to warmgun and the forum for all the advice! 'get lucky' might even sound good!

The fast forward button killed music.

Show us your HIFI System, by Coach on Jan 3, 2014 22:58:33 GMT 1, I agree Sean. And I couldn't be without a way of playing tapes. All my old festive fifty' and other john peel recordings, all the old mix tapes made by lovers two or three decades ago, all the bootlegs of gigs. I would take the ability to play tapes over the sound quality every day.

Perfect thread for me as a streaming music player was top of my shopping list this year and I now have a Sonos Play 5 and a Play 1 making their way over to me! If anyone has a spare bridge they are looking to sell - shoot me a PM.
Thanks again - look forward to its arrival!

My question, can I incorporate a Sonos into this set up? Easy! Yes, just get a sonos connect. Small white box that can be hidden and plugs into your amp. You can set it to change volume on the sonos unit or fix it to the denon. Mine is plugged into a roksan amp and fixed to the roksan volume. Otherwise I'd be annoying the neighbouring village with the volume level! One other point to remember is that you will also need a sonos bridge, usually comes free, plugged into your router.

Show us your HIFI System, by Lesson1 on Jan 6, 2014 11:21:56 GMT 1, Should be around ยฃ270 quid for connect and bridge. Just to clarify, what are your intentions? To have wireless speakers around the home or just in the one room where you already have a set up? From what I can guess you would like to stream the sound from your denon to the rest of the house? If so you will need to sets of cables to the connect and use the 'input' from your ipad controller to send that music around. Make sure your have spare input and output jacks from the denon

Show us your HIFI System, by seagull on Jan 6, 2014 13:36:30 GMT 1, I already have iTunes music streamed from Mac, iPad, iPhone to my Apple TV which is plugged into my denon coaxial input. I'd like the option to have speakers in other rooms of my house playing that music, ideally independently controlled. An apple express could giver another access point but I'd need another amp and speakers I'm guessing. Basically I hate wires and want nothing to do with them!

In that case yes.you could just buy the various sizes of sonos speakers. Also no need to stream through to apple TV. Can just steam direct to sonos plugged into your amp
